I guess Garcon is a steal at 7.5 mil next year. Garcon is a year older but I think he is more of a complete WR than Crabtree. Yes, I was advocating for the Skins to cut Garcon after the season but the money that these guys are going to be getting in FA is crazy. IF Crabtree got that deal why wouldn't Garcon get basically the same thing?

Jackson and Garcon might both be here in 2016. I also now think that this has a lot to do with the cap increase.

Just one tiny correction, if you don't mind......Garcon's base salary in 2016 will be 7.6 million after bonuses and such he accounts for 10.2 million against the cap.

Have you seen what Crabtree has done this season?

He has been far superior to Garçon and is a very good blocker. Crabtree's contract is only 250k more per season than Garcon's contract. So I really have no idea what you are talking about.

Would I pay 250k more per season to a guy that has 250 more yards and 4 more TDs than our guy while blocking every bit as well? Hell yes I would.

I think its an overpay for Crabtree. Nobody wanted this guy in FA last year.

I'm sticking with the points made earlier about the WR position. Based on the latest signings by SM at the position and and my belief that the team needs to get bigger/ taller, possibly stronger and faster there. Two things must happen.
1. A renegotiated contract for PG
2. Draft the "Guy".... a number one type.
Beyond that if they choose to keep or trade Garcon for picks or player, I'm good. Releasing him imo is dumb.

Well this year only 13 players have more catches than he does and only 8 players have more TD catches than he does. He's also leading the Raiders in both those categories. He's only 28 I believe and I've read he's been a damn good mentor to Cooper.

I'd opine that Crab is earning his money this year.

Yup. It's amazing how a contract year can motivate some players. Unfortunately this is the only year he has put up this type of production or leadership.

Yeah, I recall the stories about him being an ass0. Word is this is the first time he's been fully healthy in 3 years and he and Carr really clicked. No doubt he earned the 3 mill one year deal he signed with Oakland. We'll how it goes with the new 4 year 35 million dollar deal I guess.

It is also amazing how a guy can put up numbers with a real QB throwing the ball. Kaepernick was his QB...keep that in mind. Crabtree is a precision WR...he isn't about separation....he is about great routes, timing, and hands. That kind of player needs a real QB...one that can read defenses and throw on time.

Michael Crabtree has never lived up to his reputation, coming out of college he looked to be a star. He's a pretty good #2, that's it.

He's still got stud potential imo and call it what you will, but he's 13th or 14th in the league in receptions and only 7 or 8 players have more TD catches than he does. He just signed a new deal, 4 years/35 mill I believe. Lets see if he continues to put up numbers for the next couple years. If he stays healthy, I like his chances personally.

Let's not forget that for some guys "fit" matters. Hell, we have guys here that no longer fit. It could be that he's much more comfortable in O-town. Also, being released, even passed from team to team are motivating factors because bust or journeyman are two of the least desirable lables to be stuck with.

Crabtree is finishing his 7th season. At this point in time most athletes are who they are. I highly doubt he suddely turn into Julio Jones next year at the age of 29

Nobody is expecting Julio it of him and he isn't being paid like Julio. He is projected to have nearly 90 catches, 1000 yards, and 10 TDs. We have two guys making right around what he makes and neither have that kind of production.

Carson Palmer, Chris Johnson, and Deangelo Williams this year alone are not who we thought they were.

As my earlier post said I was referring to his projection when he came out of college, not his salary. He was an absolute monster in college and the 10th overall pick. When you take a guy that high the expectation is yes Julio Jones. Instead we have a guy with one 1,000 yard season who has never had 10 TDs to date
