Didn't realize he was already 29. Was reading where that may hamstring them with Weber or Suter, freeing one of them up. Would be just as happy with one of them, especially Weber, over Rinne

Still like Rinne though... damn....

I like rinne, but not at 7 mil and what would most likely be kissing Parise goodbye for sure. All things equal, we need to keep Zach more than signing a superstar goalie to replace Marty. We win with Hedberg in net, we can win with someone of a lower caliber than Rinne.

I agree with that....

I should start scouting for a young new goalie through the draft... :pound:

I really wanted Rinne but there is no way I would be ok with the money or years of this deal

We made the playoffs with Scott Clemmensen in net. Antti NIemi was the starting goaltender of a cup winner. There are few 65+ game goalies in the league anymore, it is a goaltender by committee league. As long as they are serviceable and not a liability they will be fine. It's all about the team in front of them.

i agree with this. in fact i would say our HOF goalie the past few years has been our #1 liability come playoff time

A young goalie on the cheap? Time to make a deal with the Leafs as they have a few of them in their system.

No doubt. If we were going to sink that kind of money into anyone from that team, I'd prefer Weber and its not close.

It depends what you need more. Suter is the better skater and passer. Weber is the heavier hitter and has a howitzer. If I could add one to help this team's PP, it would actually be Suter. You already have Kovy bombing away.
