So I was bored and looking at Dobson and some highlights today, and I love this pick. A lot of youtube highlight videos suck, but this one is pretty nice.

I didn't realize he was the one with arguably the best catch I have ever seen (1:45). The one at 1:00 is really nice too. Even if we have to simplify his role a bit, I want him on the field as early and often as possible. Throw in solid size and reasonable (4.4) speed, and he could be the receiver I've been wanting since moss left.

I also saw comparisons to Larry Fitzgerald from scouts for his hands. While that's a stretch, absolutely, I've considered Fitz the best in the NFL for several years largely because of how good his hands are. I haven't seen enough to judge his hands for sure, but per rotoworld he had zero drops his senior year, and I am not sure i have ever seen a catch even comparing to that backhanded grab that was best of the best on espn for a bit.

If his hands are as good as projected, combined with his other measurables, it is difficult to see him not fitting in unless he has a serious issue with his intangibles.

Dobson was my draft binky before the draft started. Briz and I always have a draft binky or two although his end up being stars elsewhere , and several of mine are on Pats. Just kidding Briz.

Dobson had some drops at minicamp but NFL QBs like Brady throw it much harder because of tighter windows so Dobson will need to adjust and he will. Big kid and a smart kid and best of all a good kid. Despite being the best WR he never once complained about not getting his "touches" like many a prima donna WR often does. Team first with him and that is a key.

He will probably start day one, too, and run the routes most would consider the more typical number one receiver routes. Touches will come as he learns the offense and builds trust with Brady, but he will most certainly get a fair opportunity.

I have high hopes for Dobson and pre draft I was hoping we would get him. Boyce was the surprise but this pick I like. We have had crappy luck with selecting WRs.

I think he could be great. He looks like just the guy we need outside the numbers.

Not expecting him to come out like gangbusters, but I think he could be something special before too long.

Having BB, Brady and our system I think he could be a star in the next couple years. He's got the physical ability.

Agreed IMO they need to build his confidence and assurances that " Hey Kid we got a lot of faith in you", he may run a bad route or two early on but as the season progresses IMO he could be a dangerous guy.

what was his 40 time.. possible the piece that the Pats wanted moss to fill and which he did in 2007.. that would be a nice change.. I was thinking Bryce was a bit faster but dobson had the better hands and route running..

4.4 ish. Not enough to really blow by people but enough that once he has a couple steps you're not catching him

They drafted Josh Boyce to take the top off the defense, but IMO Dobson who runs a 4.4 is still a big threat, he is a rangy guy a strider. And for a bog man is really agile. I just hope he pans out.

Not for nothing, but I think most players that get a shot at the NFL look great in college.
