Can I get a Who Dey?!?!

FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH... A Mobster kindly sent me both of the following letters. The first was sent to Bengals season-ticket holders, by the ticket department people. The second was sent to Denver Broncos’ season-ticker holders, by Broncos owner Pat Bowlen:

Thank you for your support throughout the 2012 Bengals season! From the new offseason events for Season Ticket Holders like the NFL Draft Party, stadium tours, and Season Ticket Holder Pep Rally, to the games on the field, it was an exciting year and we hope you enjoyed your Season Ticket Holder experience.
As we begin shifting focus toward a promising 2013 season, we wanted to let you know that your Season Ticket renewal information will be going out in the mail at the end of next week. The due date for your 2013 Season Ticket down payment will be Friday, February 15th. Included with this information will be a Relocation Request Form in case you are interested in moving your seats for the upcoming year. You will also have an opportunity to sign up for a payment plan for your season tickets.

AND FROM DENVER…

Dear Season Ticket Holder:

I write this letter to summarize my thoughts on the 2012 season and to thank you for your tremendous support this year.

Saturday’s playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens was a gut-wrenching disappointment for everyone who loves the Denver Broncos. It marked a bitter end to an otherwise successful season.

I feel terrible for our players, coaches and staff who put forth maximum effort throughout the year. They accomplished many great things while falling short of our ultimate goal.

But most importantly, my heart aches for you.

The energy and enthusiasm you provided us this past year were infectious and carried us to great accomplishments. Your passionate backing allowed us to ascend as the season progressed. To have it end so suddenly is certainly most painful for you.

As the owner of a football team that belongs to this region, city and the greatest fans in professional sports, I share and understand the deep disappointment that you still must feel today.

In the early stages of reflection, one thing stands clear—Your support is unwavering.

Since the day I bought this team through the moment you finished cheering your hearts out in the freezing cold of Saturday’s game, that has always been the case. Please know that I am humbled by this support and I am forever grateful for it.

I said publicly last year that I wanted 2012 to be a great season, not just a good season. We certainly had a very good season and perhaps exceeded a few expectations.

But Broncos fans, you and I know what a great season looks like.

That is why I’ll soon stop reflecting and start working on one thing for 2013—bringing another Super Bowl victory back to Denver. As we move forward, I am extremely optimistic with the future of our team.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for the passion, enthusiasm and overwhelming support you gave us this past season.

Sincerely,

Pat Bowlen

Hell, the Bengals blame their misfortune on the fans in this area for all we know. During Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Dallas games there's a good portion of visiting fans in the stadium. Tony Romo managed to hush the crowd at a visiting stadium a few times, that should never f'n happen. I'm quite certain Mike Brown would like to move the team if this mega sweet stadium deal ever goes wrong for him. its just a business to him.

I'll help them pack. What a great day that will be when this shit franchise leaves town.

Definitely a different feel and passion from one to the other. I happen to be a fan of both teams, (Cincinnati first and foremost), but it is pretty obvious that Denver is always about winning. Willing to drop t he contract on Manning they did in FA, to workign the draft, building their team, respecting their fans, etc.

When Denver is in the playoffs, the entire city and surrounding communities just have a different buzz about it. You go to Cincinnati, you can't even tell they are in teh playoffs or barely have a team. In Denver, flags hanging off every house, most cars, strangers walking through a mall slapping high fives and chanting Broncos, Broncos as they pass by with Broncos jerseys on.

Just a different atmosphere that is for sure. I lived there for 4 years during the 80's when Elway took them to their 4 SB.

One guy even painted his house orange and blue and bet the damn thing on the SB. Needless to say the moron lost his house. Just not as passionate about football here like they are there. Granted, been a really long time since I lived in Denver, and it may have changed, but I doubt if it is that far off, especially with Manning at QB.

The ownership reflects on the crap product, not the other way around.

the team should have just left town after losing the last super-bowl. The Bengals went from Icky-Shuffle to just plain old "ick"

JMO but I think that Bowlin letter is a bit ridiculous. My heart aches for you? Really? My heart aches for the parents of the kids slaughtered at Sandy Hook not some fucking football fan whose team lost. I mean Jesus let's have some perspective here. If your "heart aches" because of a football game then you need to get a fucking life.

Damn you that say the Bengals should pick up and move. I want the owner gone, not the team. All I want is for Mike Brown to sell the team. I'm too damn old to pick a new team. I've sat through shitty season after shitty season. I deserve something better, not abandonment. So fuck off with that bullshit.

Mike Brown has already stated several times he would never under any circumstances sell the team. His father pretty much pounded that into his programming. Get that through your head.

He can afford multiple heart transplants.

What the fuck did I ever do to you? Do you walk around all day and tell little kids that there is no Santa or Tooth Fairy, too? Leave me and my dreams alone you heartless bastard.

Mike Brown is supporting the research known as cryogenics... his ass will be frozen until his brain can be replicated and interfaced with an indestructible robot body.
