Imagine this season without any of the crippling injuries that's plagued us this time around. There were certainly games that were well within our grasps with the injuries and it's not that difficult to believe that there were games that a fully healthy team could and should have won.

At 4-6 this team beyond working to win out, is likely keeping a keen eye out at the fortunes and misfortunes of the teams that are ahead of it with respect to a wild card berth. Despite it all, there are some encouraging signs that were made possible only because of the spathe injuries.......Improved Depth!!

Yep, with injuries players that would get very limited real time experience, are now, benefiting because of them, and that only helps this team long term. To be sure, there are still places where help will only come via free agency and the draft, but there's also questions being answered right now, in real time, under live fire, with respect to the work or move needed on men who are keepers or taking up space in Ashburn.

In case you haven't been watching, we have zero chance of winning out with the current injury bug we have. Trust me dad, I would like to jump on that band wagon as well but this team continues to find ways to lose games. For some strange reason and its not likely to trend in another direction, 2 min prior to half and end game the team completely collapses. No one can seem to put a finger on it and it continues to happen. It seems there is not fix right at the moment. We all (including you) hold our collective breaths each week at these specific moments I mention due to the current season trend which has held true to form most weeks.

most of the teams we have left are under 500 we have a chance . we might not do it but why tank with 6 games left ?

The idea of tanking now is foolish. We can reasonably run the table and get to ten wins. Also, how do we tank? We have to play all the players we need to see if they can perform such as Perine and Doctson. You can’t see if they can play unless you use actual NFL OL and a good QB.

Tanking would not be as difficult as you imagine. In pop warner football they have a mercy rule. If you are winning by more than 3 TD, your offense is limited to inside the tackle runs and no forward pass my travel more than 5 yards up field. No screens. NO blitzs or man to man on defense.

All we need to do is adopt a reverse mercy rule, say we are trying to work on basic football concepts in light of all the new and young players we have. They are fighting their guts out.

Season tanked AND face saved. Welcome Sam Darnold.

Tank? Who said tank? We will not "win out" because we just can't. Too many injuries to starters for that to be conceivable.

I just feel even if we win out we still aren't a championship team and lose out on precious draft picks. Why not get our younger players experience and keep our star players from injury. Yes it's not college but each win we lose out on a better player. Never understood why tanking isn't as common as in the NBA like 76ers.

BAsketball has guaranteed contracts. Its alot easier to go to 12 men and say, we are going to suck ass for the rest of the season and even if you get cut, you still get paid and can likely get paid elsewhere. Try telling Cousins we want you to suck so we can be in position to draft your replacement AND in doing this, you will probably lower your value to not only us, but another team.

Good luck with that pitch.

Didn't say we could get away with it with KC but offensive line, d-line and some corners experience would be nice.

Side note: I'm drunk and on Vicodin so my posts shouldn't be considered to be to serious. However I'm normally drunk and on Vicodin so....

OH no doubt I get where you are coming from. But I think it would be very hard to get player buy in on tanking a season, much less coach buy in.

As far as the drunk and Vicodin, rather you be here saying questionable stuff, than out and about. And I wont feel as bad if you do post something odd and I ask.... ritz are you fucking high?? :pound:

They would never say to the players we are going to tank but between owner and some coaches they would use a player minor injury as a excuse to sit them.

And risk said player being asked, could you have played?? Again imagine they bench or IR a guy in the last year of his deal and potentially take away his chance to prove he deserves to get paid, if not by us then some place else. A coach calling intentionally shitty games is one thing. Getting any sort of player buy in would be... difficult.

Tell the team doctor to tell them then

Again dude, the players you would want t o bench to protect, more often than not would be questioned. And while guys who ARE relatively safe might go along, I doubt guys who could be cut to save cap space, or guys who could be traded would simply stay quiet. And even if they did, word would get out if a team was intentionally trying to tank.

Once again you aren't telling players jack shit. Say player A a OT has a wrist injury and could possibly play. The team wants to see what their 6th round pick who is a OT can do. So the team doctor says let's rest you for another week or two no need to rush you back to risk further injury. I'm not saying they would bench a healthy player for a rookie but they could find ways to play the rookies more.

I agree, sure they COULD. But the reality is, if they start doing that, most of these guys arent dumb. And if you are tanking a season, some one will put two and two together. And there is really only one position you tank a season for.

I understand the sentiment; however, if we get hot anything can happen...ask NYG.

Our younger players are automatically getting playing time by attrition. Samaje Perine will be getting reps on all three downs and I think a few will be surprised at what he can do. Josh Doctson is getting the PT now and showing everybody what he can be. Montae is a starter when healthy.

Maybe we can give Sprinkle some snaps. I would shut down Reed after the next loss unless we plan on shopping him.

Yep, with injuries players that have no fuckin business playing extended roles are now playing and quite frankly everyone can tell. This curl up in the corner in the the fetal position with 2 minutes left in the half or game prevent defense. Should've been rendered unacceptable weeks ago. Instead its become our fuckin calling card.

No worries, homey. I FTFY.
