I know that I am not a regular over here but some ofthe Husker faithful can vouch for me. This is a really good article on the expansion of the B1G moving forward that I though you guys may enjoy. Please check it out and pass it along.

Spartan Nation | Big Ten Expansion Continues to Move Forward…

Good luck in the rest of your season, and maybe we will meet up in a BCS bowl this year. I loved hanging out with your fans and consider Nebraska one of the good guys in college football and root hard for you. Hell, I am even dating a Husker fan :).

Dating a Husker fan? Why don't you stick to your own type.

It's along the same lines as the Northwestern bloggers article that was posted up a few weeks ago, I don't recall who lit it up here but it was dismissed as horseshit a little too quickly apparently

Vt would be a great addition, the B1G may not like Rutgers but I think they would be a huge market to bring in, lets face it, it's all about the money and markets and Rutgers would push the conf. all the way to the Atlantic

Rutgers does no such thing. For the 1000th time, I have lived in NYC for almost 7 years and have met one Rutgers fan ever.

New Yorkers only concern themselves with professional sports

But from that same article....

Tried to copy the chart, but failed.....

NYC only has a 14% of the population that like college football, and not all of them are Rutgers fans....

With so small a percentage, how many are going to be demanding to get the BTN and are going to be watching more B1G games? Yeah, the cable companies would probably just toss it in the sports package and the Rutgers fans would have to subscribe to a sports tier to get it.......The key is where market share is huge, the cable companies have to give it to everyone, and the B1G gets paid even for folks that don't watch it.....

And to get back, the article even mentions that Omaha has 2/3 the number of college football fans as there are Rutgers fans in NYC, and I don't think Rutgers compares to a national following as Husker nation.....

I did enjoy reading the article as I thought it was very interesting, but the article backed up what others here are saying in that Rutgers wouldn't bring anything exciting (football or just fans, and hence recruiting advantages) to the B1G.....I say pass......

Still like the idea of the Hokies in the B1G though......

Yes albeit a small % of the population, not saying Rutgers is huge as much as the market area in general
