He was clearly down before the end zone. There is a better pic out there showing his butt on the ground well before.

that wasnt even the worst call, the 4th down tipped catch by amadola that was clearly 2 yards short of 1st down and reviewed for spot was given to sandy , game should have been over before hendersons stop short of goaline that was given to sandy also.

I think there was one key point in the info TShirt brought up from a Sooners Fans thread:

The 3-3-5 defense the Sooners run is designed to stop Big12 Offenses like Tech's. I think that is why
Texas had success running 60 times in the TX-OU game. Don't think Tech can do that.

I think the only way for OU to win is with the defense, getting some turnovers, and running the ball.
-
I think they it is worse than that. OU simply has a bad front 7 right now. Scheme is a result of an amazingly poor DL. They came into the season mediocre with one DL capable of causing issues consistently and they lost him. Throw Nelson on top of that and it is even worse. Texas ran for over 4 yds per on OU, with minimal big runs. Kansas went for over 5 yds per on OU. Kansas actually had negative passing yards if you count the sack yardage. It will be interesting to see if TTU attempts to exploit OU's holes or conjures up an offensive game plan that would make the Pirate proud.

Kansas only ended up with about 200 total yards the whole game despite the big 1st qtr. And OU ran for more yard per attempt than Texas did in the RRSO. Problem was they didn't do it enough and texas did.

It's always a sweet day when OU gets beats, but yes, you guys got jobbed that day.

Way to early for a game thread... But I'll jump.

I have nothing meaningful to say because I have no idea who to root for. Normally it would be Tech hands down. However, we now have the equivalent of a 2 game lead on OU for the Big 12. Tech needs to lose. It's hard to root for OU. Sighhhhhhh. Dunno.

Fuck that Hizzle. OU can suck my ass. I'm a Techster fan on Saturday. All Texas needs to do is win out. If Mack can't do that, then we don't deserve the conference title.

Kansas had Pierson hurt also out. He is their speed back. It might have been worse if he was runnign through those holes. My pt was OU was once again bad vs the run. It is more amazing considering how bad the Kansas passing game was that day. Kansas had ~200 yds, but it was all through the running game. If you include the sack totals in the passing yards, Kansas actually had a negative passing yards. Kansas QB had 13 attempts for 16 yards and lost 19 in sacks. Think about that. Kansas ran for 200 yds vs OU, with absolutely no semblance of a passing threat. It was not done through big plays either. Sims went for 23 carries and 129 yds. That is 5.6 per with a long of 20 yards. Very similar to what Texas did to OU. It is only 2 games, but clearly OU misses those 2 guys in their front 7.

I said last week that this game will determine if TTECH is legit or not. Many times they have started out undefeated only to get their asses handed to them if they had to go to Norman or Austin. I don't mean barely lose, I mean TTECH gets the shit kicked out of them. If they can win in Norman, watch out....

Nervous about this game, just curious if Huepel has "figured things out" week 8 into the season. OU needs to run but Heupal will may just call some play's like running Roy Finch up the middle (5-7, 167lbs) and then call some 7 step drop back passes which will just confuse Bell, emulating in a bunch of 3 and out's.

If Heupel figures out how to coach is quarterback and to create a gameplan around them they OU takes it. But creating gameplans really isn't the OC's strength. I don't think the playbook has changed since Kevin Wilson left.

The unvarnished truth is OU is lucky to be 6-1. They could very easily be 5-2 right now or even 4-3. If we had to start the season all over again and play every game with what we had at the time, I would bet money we'd never be 6-1 again. OU is not a good football team this year. Texas should have run away with the conference championship this year but it's still a heaving crap shoot the Horns will be able to pull it off. My money is on the Horns winning the conference championship but nobody (except maybe Baylor) is going to beat a Top 5 team this year. If Texas Tech keeps it close for 3 quarters then OU is toast.....not just Saturday but the rest of the season. We could be watching a 7-5 Oklahoma team and 8-4 at best.

here are the best starts by far in Texas Tech history:

2013 Texas Tech is 7-0

2008 Texas Tech started off 10-0 including a 39-33 win over #1 Texas (that was the Longhorn's only loss over the season) before losing 21-65 at Oklahoma (12-2) and then 34-47 to Ole Miss (9-4)

2005 Texas Tech started off 6-0 before losing 17-52 to National Champion Texas (13-0). They went on to beat Oklahoma 23-21 but lose to Oklahoma State 17-24 and Bama 10-13

1998 Texas Tech started off 6-0 before losing 5 of their last 6

1976 Texas Tech started off 8-0 with a 31-28 W over Texas in Game 5. Texas Tech went on to lose to 10-2 Houston (L 19-27) and Nebraska (L 24-27)

1938 Texas Tech went 10-0 before losing to St. Marys in the Cotton Bowl. they didn't play Texas or OU or any current major conference teams

Tough game to figure. Texas Tech has not really been tested and Oklahoma has not looked great this year. Oklahoma is very tough to beat in Norman so I'm going with them. QB situation is a bit of a mess. Webb appears to be the best option for Tech, and as for Oklahoma, how long will they stick with Bell.

Results of this game could be very close or a rout. I've got Oklahoma for 2 pts on pick-em.

OU will not win if they try to get into a shootout with Tech, the defense just isn't good enough with the injuries they've had. The only hope is to play clock management and pound the ball on the ground. Plus hope for an INT or two...

exactly what I think.
I don't feel like Heupel has it in him to do that though.
he calls what he's comfortable with, not what fits the team.

Not sure which way I lean in this one. I usually go with Oklahoma, but am also a fan of Kingsbury. I'll probably just watch the game and hope for a good one from both sides.
