I don't think so. But he's been given every chance to right himself, unlike any other young player I can think of. Is that from marketing considerations or because the Giants believe in is bat? I think the latter.

Now, maybe he would have spent time in the minors if he wasn't having the personal issues back home. I think they always believed he would eventually turn it around.
