@tzill you used to pitch. How is it a pitcher can take the mound and not have already worked out his mechanics? I just don’t get how that is possible.

Its only the 1st inning, and Darvish has been pretty bad himself this 2nd half. Hopefully, that same pitcher shows up and our offense doesn't decide to take the day off.

I will never understand how a pitcher can’t figure out his mechanics BEFORE he takes the mound. Makes no sense to me.

This! I never understood how a pitcher (starter or reliever) leaves the warmup session and then has no control and/or mechanics. Webb was very wild from the onset. I wonder why they never seem to check with the warmup catcher.

It's an adrenaline thing. You can't really create live ball throwing on the side. Usually, you find your rhythm fairly quickly but once in a while it eludes you. Or, if you suck, you never find it. It happens. This loss sucks but you can't presume a sweep.
