Maybe Belt starts playing in LF again come the Padre series? I hate doing that, but there is no way we can do anything with Perez as our LFer. I would MUCH prefer Susac/Posey/Belt than Posey/Belt/Perez

I was kinda surprised they didn't call him up after the Squirrels were eliminated. I assume they want him to rest for a bit before the AFL?

Is Carbonell physically with the Giants right now? Is the 40 man roster necessarily the same 40 now allowed in the majors? I suck at knowing how this end of things works.

Carbonell IS eligible for post season play, if that is your question. He was on the 40 before August 1. I have no idea where he is, physically. I doubt he is with the team, though. I think he is close enough that options don't matter for him, so he would be on the active roster if he were physically with he team.

The "25"-man roster is a subset of the 40-man. On August 1, the 25-man roster becomes the "25"-man roster and anyone on the 40 can be called up. The Giants added 10 players (Brown, Perez, Strickland, Dominguez, Heston, Kickham, Bochy, Quiroz, Kontos and Cordier). Carbonell, Villalona, Parker, Flores and Mejia were not "called up" (I listed those players from memory, so sorry if one or two are wrong). Any player on the 40-man is eligible for pst-season play, although, any payer not on the 25-man on Aug 1 can only be added by jumping through some hoops. I am not sure what those hoops are (Marco?).
