D-Backs tried their best to eff it up, gave up and 0-2 RBI hit with 2 outs, then gave A-Gon a gift double that extended the inning. Luckily, Kemp grounded out with runners on 2nd and 3rd and slammed his helmet.

4-3 D-Backs

From Grant at MCC:

Didn't see the Nady move working out right away quite like this, though. He's worth 2 WAR to the Giants this year. I know that's not how that stat works, but the important thing is that I'm running that joke into the ground.

Dayum. So hopeful.

Hopefully this puts the Dbacks in a tail spin. Tough to recover from a loss like that. :cool2:

A team just doesn't recover from a loss like that.

Nady's OPS is something like 1.714. Hope he keeps it up.

That's a Bondsian number right there. Maybe Nads can be this year's Ross/Huff pick-me-up on the way to some playoff wins.

D-Backs blow 4-3 lead in 9th, lose 5-4 A-Gon with the big hit.

I love how it's taking everything the dodgers can muster with their billion dollar roster not to lose ground.

Keep playing .500 ball at home doggies!

And on an 0-2 count.

Someone got an 0-2 hit when the Dodgers scored their 3rd run a few innings prior (would've been the end of the inning). I think 0-2 base-hits are one of the most aggravating things, behind only 0-2, 2 out RBI knocks.

Excellent points made on one of the wrap-up shows on MLBTV:

Since Aug 1, Angel Pagan leads MLB in runs scored (I believe with 34).

Pagan is also 9 for his last 14 with RISP.

He has played very solid defense, at least recently, with several highlight-quality plays.

He has become the best leadoff hitter we have had since Kenny Lofton, and probably even better.

With Melky out of the picture, we should give serious consideration to offering him an extension before he becomes a free agent.

And without a 30-HR Guy.

For which on the FA market we would have to pay megabux.

Plus, it supports the position of not paying any one player too much money. Stuff happens, and if one player can't produce (Melky, Huff, etc), others can step up and we can still win ballgames.
