Why does being down by 2 runs seem to feel like being down by a dozen?

This team does not quit, but they don't seem to have any fire tonight, either. Familiar story this week. Why are we playing so badly at home? We ought to be winning these games handily.

Instead, 2-2 against the Dogs and Brews, and could be 2-3. Not the play of a 1st place team that wants to remain in 1st.

In this ballpark, if you don't have a speedy lineup (for offense and defense), it's going to be a struggle. Not sure why the management has't figured that out yet.
