Severino has thrown a LOT of innings for a young guy.

They need him though thats for sure--- but at some point- i gotta think that an innings jump like that might catch up with him.

Huge concern, and he own the highest average fatsball velocity in the bigs, so of course Tommy John is an inevitability.......This is where I get frustrated with Girardis' managing style, he has such a quick trigger with all his starters, mostly because of the BP strength, but he lets Severino just keep throwing his arm off

from what i have read the general rule is limiting a guy to about 20 more innings than a previous season.

I mean - the Yanks seem to prob inevitably be the 1st wild card

Severino is pitcing great- but if he hits 200 innings before the wild card playoff game- thats gonna be a lot of freaking innings.

Gotta say I have been really impressed with him though this year- as i am sure everyone has been.

The staff, for sure, but I wouldn't say they were anyone's favorite. At least, no one sane.

You can probably find as many predictions on the Mets winning the NL East as you will find for the Nats

favorites may be a bit of hyperbole, but they were supposed to compete this year.

He needs to and will get the WC Start, but Sonny is making a strong push for it

Fingers crossed he holds up this season, but Id almost bet money on it that he runs into problems next year

Agree 100%. I actually meant to say that in my last comment but forgot. I've gotten about eight hours of sleep since Monday morning so I'm extra stupid.

You and me both.

This is a little of that, but more work. Yesterday - four flights, four cities, two meetings and a couple hundred miles driven. Long fucking day.

sale and kluber are tied for the lead in wins at 16
sale leads the AL in IP and K's
kluber has a slightly better WHIP, but lower ERA/better ERA+

kluber missed 3 starts. sale hasnt missed one.

if sale reaches 300 K's,it could be his. hes been the favorite all year.

neither guy winning it would be a sham.

As it stands right now, I agree. We'll see what their last starts bring.

I would add to Kluber's case, 3 shutouts, performance down the stretch and (don't know if voters will consider or not) Sale vs Indians, Kluber vs Red Sox.

No one wants the avi bet? @redseat? Anyone?

Come on guys. It's just for the hell of it. Plus, I'm pretty sure that half the avi bets I win, I never provide an avi for the loser to wear. . .

Kluber missing about a month hurts him---- but Kluber has been amazing lately and has gotten some big time hype during the streak--- couple that with Sale being solid- but not great since August started and its gotten really close

like you said- it could be either one--- but right now- if the season ended today- I think Kluber would edge him out.
