Kyrie isn't that much better than IT where I would risk losing out on a top 5 pick where you have 2 franchise changing guys likely going 1st and 2nd in the draft. Boston basically put themself in position to play into late May for next 3 seasons or so but never good enough to win a title.

I love IT, I really do, he was my favorite Celtic since Pierce. But Kyrie is that much better than him, he's younger, and IT wanted max money after this year. Sorry, but Thomas's game is limited and once he loses a step due to age (or the hip, who knows) then he's falling off a cliff.

Sorry, been hearing about the "franchise changing guys" for years now. Get the sure thing, not hope for the ping pong balls. And this certainly gives them a good enough team to reach the Finals, and then it will really depend on Tatum and Brown's development over the next couple years.

Lakers are not close to being one of the bottom teams this year. Last year they intentionally tanked from February on to get that pick. There is easily at least 7-8 teams that will finish below the Lakers. Only way the Celtics get that pick is by miracle.

Cleveland offered Irving for Porzingas, look how much better they did here
