The gap between Gallo's average and slugging percentage just keeps growing, as he's now slugging .577 while hitting only .211 for a league-leading .366 isolated power. Gallo has 14 hits in 14 games this month and 10 of them have left the yard.

I wonder what the record for % of hits being HRs in a season is

Gallo is at 49.2% right now. 71 hits/ 35 of them HRs

big mac in 2000 had 32 HR on 72 hits. 2001 he had 29 in 56 hits. that comes to mind.

As long as we dont face KC in that one game, that team would scare me

But Im thinking if we win that game, Id rather be facing the Astros than be the Red Sox getting swept by Cleveland
Well just making the playoffs will be a feat for the Red Sox since the window is closed.

1. 2017 Joey Gallo (49.2%)
2. 2001 Barry Bonds (46.8%)
3. 1998 Mark McGwire (46.1%)
4. 1999 Mark McGwire (44.8%)
5. 1996 Mark McGwire (39.4%)
6. 1997 Mark McGwire (39.2%)
7. 1961 Roger Maris (38.4%)
8. 2012 Adam Dunn (37.3%)

Judge keeps striking out despite the garbage the Mets run out there. He almost ended the streak last night though.

2-5 HR that landed on your farm and 2 runs scored

I'll take 3ks a night if it comes with that

But damn you are right, witnessing the Mets first hand, they are so dreadful

Sox window is at least through 2018 because that's when Kimbrel and Hanely become FAs, and i doubt either will be back.

the next year Porcello and Sale are FAs (and thank the lord, Panda's deal is done).

Yeah, can't see Hanley being back with the Red Sox once he hits free agency. Solid enough player but I think both sides move on. I hope we keep Sale long term.

Hanley's option for 2019 is a vesting option though, that only requires 1050 plate appearances for this year and next. Considering he got 1050 (exactly) from 2015-2016, while missing 72 games, he'll likely get it. Not sure about any buy out clause.

Its not a good matchup for the Sox, obviously, but Boston is a streaky team. If they hit their stride at the right time, it might not turn out how you think it will.
