Well sure, but that's what the long season is about.

I'm pretty sure we aren't going to take the division but it's not that implausible with 40 games left down by 3. It's not like it's 5 games in the loss column with 20 to play.

Look at Toronto, riding high all year until now. Probably miss the playoffs. Seattle was crap, now right there for a wild card. Even Tampa almost got back in it. The Nats were pretty lame until recently...

To me it's clear why our mood is where it is. When the season started we thought (give or take): LA wins the division, we shoot for a wild card, win 88-90 games. Well, that's pretty much where we are. So we should be ok with things, right?

Well no, they tortured us by starting the first 2 months looking like the best team in baseball, and 2 months is long enough for us to think it's real. Turns out we weren't that good. Then 2 months of sucking happens, long enough for us to think THAT'S real. But I don't think we're that bad. We're the 88-90 win wild card team we projected at the beginning of the year.
