I was listening to local radio during the day yesterday. A coug has a mid day show so it's for sure not a pro husky doing the interview. Can't remember the name of who he was talking to, but it's someone in the Portland area that was a former BYU player that grew up in Oregon and covers football down there.

They were talking about this rivalry and how he saw it growing up and after he came back from college.

He had some points that may be hard for both of us to swallow, but he's not that far wrong.

He says he still tells all of his duck buddies that they 100% became everything they complained about UW fans for all of those years while they were down. The arrogance and every bit of that attitude.

Basically he thinks both fan bases are exactly the same. There's no doubt it's a heated rivalry and there are jackasses in both bases that do really stupid things in the name of this game/rivalry.

FWIW, I was sitting in a Top Pot doughnuts this morning with my wife and two different groups with people wearing ducks gear came in. We were all friendly to each other. Yes, I am wearing UW gear. There were no fights so we CAN get along lol.

For sure. UW have lost games they shouldn't every single year and have sputtered off and on all this season. They aren't yet fully firing. If they can't hit that gear today this could go either way.

Obviously I still like their chances, but it's far from assured.

Neb didn't do themselves any favors with that awful series on offense where they basically looked contented to punt. Oh, and a hell of a punt to get it downed on the 1y.

Still, that's a staff that looks scared to coach from a lead and smells desperate for a win.
