Eight batters in, five hits, two runs on a mammoth bomb, and now we visit the mound? About time.

Wasn't Moore supposed to pitch well at AT&T?

edit: make it six hits and four runs.

With this offense, game is already over. :L

Welcome home, gents!

Anyone ready to give up on Moore? What a disaster he has been. For a guy with his stuff, he's been a complete waste of space on this pitching staff.
Oy. He may not get out of the first...

Not ready to give up on him, but certainly not ready to hand him a rotation spot moving forward. Dude needs to earn that rotation spot for next year, IMHO.

The .035 hitting pitcher saves him.

I know his contract is club friendly, but his pitching has been awful. Is he injured? Is he Sanchez 2.0 (million dollar arm and 10 cent head?)
You gotta give him AT LEAST 1 more year. But if you can trade him for someone else who is struggling, I think you have to consider it.

After giving up four runs and having nine men come to the plate in the first, how many pitches will the Giants see in their half of the first? Less than 10?
I'll take the over action on that bet...

Well, well, well, the Giants have a hit already, and its only the first inning!

Let's see what they can do with a RISP

edit: precisely nothing

Is this a failure of the Giants system? I have been pondering keeping track of this system wide. The other night all minor league teams were I think 6-52 with RISP (including a terrible 2-17 by San Jose).

Re: Matt Moore, not much you can do with him. Just hope he figures it out.

The problem is obvious, his fastball just get's crushed. His velo is down a little bit, his cutter usage is WAY up so maybe that has something to do with it. And his curveball usage is way down.

If I had a say in what he was doing, I'd tell him to throw his curve and changeup more and his cutter and fastball less.

Looking at some real advanced stuff, his arm angle seems fine, pretty consistent release points, looks like he's lost some arm speed, just a hair, but it might be something. Though it seems his arm speed decreased after his operation.
