Is the over/under win total for Bengals in Vegas this year
Seems really low since A.J could even be better
Thoughts?

odds are a few key injuries will sink us, the Bengals don't handle injuries as well as many perennial playoff teams. one can only hope that doesn't happen.
So basically if your betting we win 8 games you are betting that:
1. Dalton stays healthy
2. A J Green stays healthy
3. Our CB core doesn't get depleted again
4. Our Safeties play well
5. Our running game becomes efficient with the players we have.
There's a lot of optimism to be had from a fans perspective, the Bengals have a good upside;
but Its a wonder Vegas didn't put it any lower. and this bet is not a good investment.
Based on our track-record (inconsistent from one season to the next), the betting public probably doesn't trust us to have a good year. I'll let BengalDoug figure it out though -- I think he might live in Vegas.
Pretty sure Bengal Doug lives somewhere near Dayton unless he moved, because him and I were goign to go catch the Broncos game at a sports bar in Indiana once when the home opener against the Broncos wasn't sold out....where Stokely made that miracle grab in the closing seconds to beat us.
I was just poking fun at Doug's gambling habit.
Thanks for reminding me of that Stokely game..... What an awful game.
I think 7 1/2 is about right.
I think a full off-season with Gruden will really go a long way to opening up the offense this year. Upgrades at both Guard positions, and at RB will really help as well.
Defense should be good enough. Not sure they'll be as good as last years squad, but they have a lot of young guys. They just need to step up.
I fully expect the defense to be even better this year even if they are not ranked as high. Lot of high powered offenses we are going to go against so that will hurt the rankings, but I expect this defense to be much better. Great DL depth and rotation, hopefully Rey takes things seriously and improves, with Lawson and Howard returning and Muckelroy for that matter. A lot more CB, and safety depth as I see Allen being a swing man, and with Iloka and Nelson back, Newman and a re-energized Pacman..I can see this defense being a lot stronger.
I'm looking at it more like...you don't know what you will get from the defense.
Will hall be healthy? They say it takes a full year to recover and then some to get back to normal after his type of injury.
Depth a CB is a plus, but they are all pretty old and busted up. We'll see.
Safety is unchanged. Removed Crocker, but Mays or Iloka...no one knows what they can bring to the table yet.
DL depth is also questioned after losing Fenene and Rucker (who finally had a health year). They got some great guys in the draft and the F/A guys will add depth (if they can hang around), but can they match last year's production? I have my doubts.
I expect the offense to take a step forward this year. However, I have some reservations about the defense due to a lot of changes.
Just because they made the playoffs last year, my default position would be under, since this team under Lewis has never put together back to back winning seasons, but there's way too many variables right now to make an educated call.......
