Now that the NHL trade deadline has come and gone, I expect to see TOP performances from this Sharks team. Every player just has to go out and PLAY HOCKEY, without any added stress.

Probably not a Stanley Cup preview. It will be a miracle if the Sharks get out of the West with the Ducks, Kings, Blues, and Hawks in their path. Penguins will probably flop too. My 2nd favorite team the Flyers are starting to roll now in the East. I would love a Flyers - Sharks final.

So I thought when the Sharks got healthy we were finally going to see the REAL Sharks? Just wait til they get healthy as Randy, Drew, etc were saying. If they lose tonight, they will be 2 and 3 since everyone was healthy including stinkers against Buffalo and Carolina. Hmmm, not exactly lighting it up. Now nearly 4 periods without a goal. Starting to look like the team before the Olympics here.

Two things:

1. It takes time for guys who have been injured to get back in the swing. Teams almost always get a one or two game boost and then suck while the players get back into the day to day routine.

2. Pens are in that first couple game window of having new players after the trade deadline. I would be surprised if they hadn't come out like their hair is on fire.

I do agree that the Sharks should beat teams like Buffalo and Carolina but lets remember that San Jose has only ever won once in Buffalo. That leaves Carolina, which we lost to in OT and still got a loser point. While we would all like to see the Sharks do better, I'll withhold judgment until they have a change to really get back into their rhythm.
