The Giants have appeared to be horrible in the first inning (pitching-wise), so I thought I would look it up...

ERA By inning for the Giants this year (entering today)...

1 - 5.31
2 - 4.13
3 - 2.95
4 - 5.46
5 - 3.54
6 - 6.79 (OUCH!)
7 - 3.54
8 - 3.54
9 - 2.29
Xtra - 3.43

So, the first is bad, but not as bad as it has seemed. I have no idea how this ranks against other teams, though...

If I had to gander, the 6th inning could be troublesome for a number of teams. The starter is usually facing the lineup a 3rd time through, (typically) the worse relievers are coming in. Still, not pretty.

Hundley helping that trade value too!

In all honesty, if he can get a little swing going, he could bring in a decent piece. By the trade deadline he'd be owed less than $1M so money is a non-issue. Keep an eye out if a team loses a catcher.

He has a history as a solid starting catcher, as well. So he isn't exactly a flash-in-the-pan type, which should increase a teams willingness to buy.

That's what I was thinking. I will look around tonight to see if I can't find some league leader lists already put together for this type of thing. If I get the bug up my butt, maybe I will just do it manually (doubtful)

Nunez has reached base in 23 straight games..... wow
He really is a good player. Either way, I would be completely OK with the Giants signing him as a FA this coming off season.

How the fuck is Eric Sogard doing this?

A career .609 OPS, 72 OPS+ (AKA, utter garbage) before this year. He played 2 games in minor league baseball last year., none in the majors. He's 31.

Baffling

Boch needs to get Melancon more work between his weekly save opportunity. He has to be rusty as all hell.

Calixte made a rookie mistake there. He's got to leave that ball in the padding.

But the ump makes the call anyway. Interesting...

I didn't see the play, but it sounds like the Giants just got a huge break.

Not sure it will matter, as a base hit ends it.

I was just thinking that (another reason I hate the whole closer mentality). This is just his 2nd game this month.

Well, we still have a lead now. So if we manage to get out of it, it's a big call.

I don't mind pitching to Shaw, he's prone to K's.... but why throw anything close? He chased a pitch to get to 2 strikes. If you walk him, set up the force. Dumb
