Flem was on M&M this am on KNBR. He told the “behind the scenes” story of the Pham/Joc situation.
Apparently, the Reds were ignoring what happened. Kap and other Giants brass essentially demanded that they sit him and they were immediately on the phone to the league offices. Pham was not sat until they were forced to sit him by the league.
Just from a strictly HR standpoint, no way should he have been able to play in that game.
This story was also referenced as to how/why the Giants failed to get McGee onto the official roster for the game. They were too busy dealing with the Reds and the league offices to double/triple check their lineup cards.
