Giants have 3 hits and a run through 3 innings, and STILL have only seen 46 pitches from the kid getting his cuppo.

And Posey proceeds to give a FPOM to lead off the 4th...

Why any pitcher would ever throw a pitch in the same zip code as the strike zone against this team is beyond me.

Phillies strategy is obviously to walk opposing pitchers so they have to waste energy on the bases

Bam Bam must be pissed right now. 2 consecutive ABs where the hitter actually looked at some balls.

When you've got a mashing team like the Giants, it is a good strategy to expand the zone against a cuppo pitcher struggling to find the plate.

Livey throws the "invisiball" that Petit has so much success with.
This kid is supposed to be good. I am enjoying seeing his cuppo game.

But god damnit, I refuse to "tip the cap" to any pitcher facing this sorry ass team.

This L is on Bochy, leaving Cueto in for the 7th. Also the shitty bats but that's a constant.

Queto hasn't beaten the Phils since the Hoover administration. Boch wanted to get him a win. I am totally OK with the decision.

Well, if the feeling is the season is over sure why not. If Bochy is still trying to win games, and I suspect he is, he made a bad call.

109 pitches, laboring the last couple of innings, completely rested bullpen. Bad call.

Bochy has never been one to get too bent out of shape over a single reg season game. I have always gotten the sense that he views the reg season as spring training on steroids.

If he puts the game at risk to get a guy a big personal moment, he is typically cool with doing that. I suspect that is what happened here. He was already at about 105 pitches. Why send him out if there want another reason?

At the end of the day, though, I am 100% AOK with the Giants losing to the Phils. It is right now a 3-way race with them and the Pads, and if we can get a leg up, all the better.

This is really what you mean, you like his decision because it gave you another loss that you crave.

The regular season is only "spring training" if you make the playoffs.

Assuming the Giants are going 110% for the win.

I already mentioned that. If you believe the Giants are tanking then it was a great call.

That's never not going to be the case.

Putting individual accomplishments above team accomplishments is not the Giants way.

(edit): 2007 Barry Bonds is an exception. That's a different level.
