With two shutouts in a row, I think GPC2011 and I got a little cocky in the posting.

I commented that someone's prediction of 5-2 was looking good at the time, a sure way to invoke the wrath of the baseball gods.

I anticipated a QS from Gaudin an inning too soon.

And then GPC2011 tried to post Romo into a shut down inning, but his keyboard took over and, well, the rest was miserable.

Gotta be more careful.

But yeah, I saw the game turn on GQ's AB with the pitcher coming up. He had to do something there instead of K. Loved the walkoff early in the season, but that's all she wrote.

And how can Gaudin give up two homers to a .160 hitter who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat? Once? OK, live and learn. Twice? Throw him something different.

Romo's one out walk? Cannot put the tying run on base. Can.Not.Do.It!!!!!

And Arias' error? Inexcusable.

We had this game. We HAD it.

He threw 79 and then 84 in his two previous starts. 90 wasn't a stretch. He just blew it. We needed him to go six and he didn't. By PQS, his start was a 0, or a disaster.

Pretty much how I saw it.

In some fairness to Gaudin, I thought Upton hit a pretty good pitch, on the the low outside corner.

GiantsPackersChamps2011 holds a press conference,

You know I have to take the bullet on this one. We had a nice streak going and I was on a good streak before the series, so I went for it. Things actually looked good for me up until that 9th Inning. Unfortunately, I made that big error out there and it cost me. In a 1-run game you can't make the type of error I made. I cost my board mates and my team the game. Not much else I can say, just have to move on to the next one

This drives me crazy! Blanco with a leadoff single. And Torres with a terrible AB, not advancing Blanco to 2nd. Then Blanco gets caught stealing, followed by a would be RBI double by Perez.

Why can't these guys, in close games, do the things like advancing the runner?

Funny, I was watching the game on Fox Sports South, with the Braves announcers. They made a big point of how the Giants won the WS in 2010 and 2012 by doing the little things right, and gave huge props to Bochy as manager.

The grass is always greener...
