Good thing the Red Sox traded for him instead of overpaying Sandoval.
Yes, I'm going to keep regurgitating that line.
Dearest Hu,
The Mets have recently discussed moving Noah Syndergaard to the bullpen and calling up Matz, Mike Puma of the NY Post reports.
Spin:
Syndergaard would be used to set up Jeurys Familia while Matz would slide into Syndergaard's rotation spot. The Mets have struggled to find a bridge to Familia and Syndergaard's high-90s fastball and 'hook from hell,' could fill that spot. This is far from a done deal, as both Syndergaard and Matz profile starting pitchers, so view this as an outside possibility for the time being.
Jays don't wanna pay Pap Smear's option year ($13 mil I think?). Hamels would be nice but what can ya do if a guy doesn't wanna play here. I'm hoping they try hard for Cueto/Chapman but I doubt it. Maybe throw in Votto while they're at it?
Interesting idea of moving him to the back of the pen, since he has really struggled in his last two starts, after pitching so well in his first four starts.
I could see the Jays as the one team that would go get Cueto as a rental alone, and make a run at this season
Not sure they have the guys to get both, not sure how other teams view Daniel Norris and Aaron Sanchez, assuming that's there big pieces
Don't think they'd trade Sanchez anymore. They see him and Stroman as future aces. Norris and Hoffman, maybe. Could also move one of Castro or Osuna.I could see the Jays as the one team that would go get Cueto as a rental alone, and make a run at this season

From a Yankee fan that lived through what they did with Joba, that's a risky approach
Typical - Jays catch fire and so does everyone else in the division. Instead of making up 4 or 5 games they make up 2 which one bad series against the Mets can ruin.
Agree. Syndergaard needs to work through a lousy initial season, if that's what he's going to have. I heard it will build character, or something.
How many young studs come up and dominate the league right from the start without any bad outings? (If @Lord Scalious were here he could probably tell us)
I don't know if Copeland can do it twice, plus Dickey's going to get a chance to blow a lead against his old team.Patience, BBB...Buehrle tonight; Harvey has been struggling and Copeland can hang with him tomorrow; Hutchinson Wednesday; Dickey's going to be pumped to be back in Queens and face a horrible NL lineup Thursday.

think his run is over?Between the Cespedes trade and the Donaldson move, Beane not having a great run

Your Jays have been on fire
