IDK, there could be something more to it. I just listened to McVay on a video recorded today go on and on about Dan Orlovski. He talked about possible bringing him back and what he meant to the 'young guys'.

Basically I think you're probably right, but still I'm with LTRF on this, not quite sure what to make of it.

I've had it with the guy, just trade the jerk... You signed a contract, you abide by the terms... If you want to renegotiate, you show up to camp and have your reps continue negotiating....

He basically went from one of my favorite players to a guy I despise right now. He's a distraction this team does NOT need...

Doesn't Cleveland have 2 first round picks plus our former DC that he succeeded under? Sounds like a perfect match to me.

Everyone else thinks Rams fans are crazy for even considering a trade of AD yet if Smart plays anywhere near AD's level his rook year, then a trade is pretty obvious. Now all we need is to get Cleveland to part with their two number ones and a third and a fourth.

That's a pretty big IF though. Expecting 6th round pick Tanzel Smart to be a pro-bowler is a huge reach. It's surprising enough he's starting in Donald's absence.

I can't imagine Cleveland giving up 2 1sts for Donald either.

Donald didn't emerge into a recognizable probowl talent until midway through his first year. I am not surprised by anything in the NFL and if Williams wants AD bad enough two number ones or even a one, two, and three are not out of the question.

From what I have a read, Smart has been in all the right places at the right times during plays. And that's all we need him to do. If he does his job at the LOS it will be good for the LBs and DBs.

Would AD do more? I would say of course but what do you actually need and is it worth $40-60 million Guaranteed ? Those are the questions we will find out with the current defense. We should know a lot after 4 weeks

There's no way Smart is going to play on Donald's level as a rookie. He lacks the explosiveness and speed that Donald possesses. Solid play out of Smart would be great, and it would lock up a spot on the d-line for cheap over the next 3-4 years.

Still wish he would have been on the field tomorrow. Things are in our favor vs the Colts, but there is still a lot of the Fisher cultured hanging around this team like a smelly fart with this team at this point.

We need every advantage we can muster to get off to a good start this year until the McVay/Phillips culture takes hold.
