As much as I love Bumgarner if another player grunts after missing a hittable pitcher/yells at themselves, Bumgarner would stare them down and get into a shouting match.

I love Bumgarner, great pitcher and he was historically great in the playoffs. But I'd like him to chill a bit at times

A grunt is not a slap in the face to anyone. It's called desire. I never saw Bum get mad at a dude who grunted. Clark grunted in 1989 NLCS against Williams I believe on his single up the middle to win it.

I also grunted when I hit all the time at the plate. Desire !
