Not sure there's room for him in the outfield especially when Conforto is back. And of course next year with Lee, Ramos, Conforto, etc.
Yup. That’s the rub right now. I was actually considering starting a thread to discuss Luciano’s future.

The OF is pretty stacked with 3 kids who look like they could be around for a while. Conforto and Fitz also add roadblocks out there.

I don’t see him as a 5 or 6, so that then leaves 2B, 1B or DH. His bat isn’t strong enough YET for 1B or DH. And I have no idea what his potential is at 2B, but I could see Estrada maybe moving to SS. Not ideal, but he came up with the Spanks as a SS.

Or he could be the centerpiece of a trade.

To quote Tom Petty, “The future is wiiide open.”

Giants gain ground as the dodgers and pads lose. Now tied with the pads both at .500

This stretch is very reminiscent of the ‘10 Torture team.
Felt that way at the beginning of the year for me...figured it would be pitching dominated, with ok hitting but nobody truly scary there, etc. They may make a deep playoff run they may not but at least you can see it as a reasonable possibility and can root for all year.

Sometimes it works out though....still a SSS, will all 3 of these kids (Matos/Luciano/Ramos) hit like this over 400 ABs? Injuries...

Depth is good.

There's not a chance in hell the Giants win more games than the Dodgers this year

Playoffs are another story, far more wide open if they get there

That Chapman play is blowing up Twitter. Could end up being the best play of the year, or in the convo. Game situation a big part of it.

An EWS is a 3-R HR. Bails hit a salami.
I was Hahaha Streaming delay of Giro d' Italia (tour of Italy cycling three week grand tour like TDF)
and was on the live scoring on CBS Sports and there it read like a 3 run homer. I think there was an error on their live coverage just text and a batting box with pitches and location and choices of scoring plays and box scores with scoring line. :brick: :pound::martini::martini::martini:

You still here Sybil?
Hey, you showed up. Good job keeping the tantrums in check for this one. Three in a row when trailing by four or more runs is a record for this century. Keep your chin up

I think it is time to end Luciano’s SS career. I have said, almost from day 1, years ago, that he would not stick at SS. He is proving me right almost daily at this point.
Where else would you play him? I keep hearing how he is the heir apparent to Crawford

4 consecutive games where the winning team came back from a 4-run deficit to win. Absolutely incredible.

And that play to end the game is one of the greatest plays I have ever seen from a 3B. I have seen Arenado do some filthy things against the Giants when he was with Colorado, but I think Chapman may have already passed him as the best defensive 3B I have ever seen regularly in Giants games (including opposition, obviously).
Hmmm, maybe a bit of a stretch but considering the situation, it was huge. And he's hitting now too

Fair. It happens.

But THIS was a game that needed to be watched. Chapman alone is making this team fun to watch this year, regardless of record.
