I don't know if Crawdad can be a major league hitter. But from what I have seen, he can be a major league shortstop. He has range and the arm. I wonder whether the hitting has affected his fielding. Why not just say, "Look, kid, go out and field your position the way we know you can. The hitting will take care of itself."

He is not going to be a hitting leader, so why put excessive pressure on him to be something he is not?
