I call guys like this “gadget guys”. They’re just football players. Deebo needs some injury luck. He plays a physical brand of football and that can come with a price. It seems to have impacted him each of the last 3 seasons. I think he’s a nice complement to McLaurin. If a team wants to play two high safeties vs Washington, he opens up versatility in that play book. I think he will especially be a tough piece to defend if he is used in motion along with Daniels at QB and maybe a dynamic rookie RB. I like this draft for RB this year. Think there is value late. I don’t think either of the guys they had this year were all that great. Deebo, Daniels, and a dynamic young RB could really give the defense a ton to have to plan for. I think Kingsbury could really take advantage of defenses with this personnel.
You have always made solid posts man. Agree with most all of this. I've been screaming for 2 seasons that local fans overrate Brian Robinson, they have needed much more explosion from that position.

But they also need OL help. They got pretty lucky with injuries and you can't count on that continuing. They don't really have one starting OL who is anything special, mostly B and C players

Robinson is okay but yeah I think the Commanders would be wise to take a RB with one of their picks this year given that it’s a deep class of RBs and adding in another would give their O a nice boost. I bet they take an O-Lineman with their first round pick this year.

I didn’t make that claim.
5

60/game does mean one game. It’s an average, of all the games he plays in during the season. Do your research again. Then come back and blow me, you ugly mongaloid.
I know you read my follow up post as you clowned it so this is an odd reply.

As you can see I did my research and that research has confirmed that you are wrong. In '21 Deebo had 1,405 receiving yards in 16 games. That is 90 yards/game. If we add his rushing totals he had over 60 yards a game in 3 of his 6 seasons in San Francisco.

Now can you please tell us why you insist on downplaying just how good he was in SF?

Honestly other than QB there is not a position group that could not use an upgrade. Jayden hide a whole lot of deficiencies. I am pretty convinced they will find a back in the middle rounds but I don't expect them to automatically take an OL with the first pick, they will go BPA with so many holes to fill.

Now that their day 2 has been gutted I hope they trade back, but need a partner.

You make an interesting point, you are right that the Commanders could kind of use an upgrade at lots of positions, I think they go O-Line to start given how important it is to protect Jayden, but they could go somewhere else if they have a guy they like available. You guys have a lot of talented players and a decent overall roster but there is no position other than QB that really stands out as stellar, but there also isn’t any major weakness on your roster IMO.

Run defense was abysmal. I'm still trying to figure out how Bobby Wagner's run defense rating was so high when the team was gutted right the middle from the opener on. This time last season the OL was a real weakness, with WR other than Terry 2nd. Jayden made pedestrian receivers productive and they overhauled the OL. But they only went from terrible to average there. More help needed.

Only year he reached 60yards receiving per game was ‘21.

Now start sucking.

You may be right but he sure wasn't clear. But as you pointed out he was wrong anyway as he did it in 2021. If we add in the rushing yards he averaged over 60 yards a game in 2019 and 2022 as well.

Who knows what he has now but to diminish what kind of player Deebo Samuel has been is kind of dumb.
Did you read my post before his? About deebo? I literally called him just a guy. I stand by that.

And he had 2 other seasons where he averaged over 60 yards a game when rushing yards are included. As long as we are taking a hard look at your post wording you never said only receiving yards. No what you actually said, because it's so easy to go back and look, is "Only topped 60yards/game once in his career."

I remember when he was a hybrid but wanted to be a receiver I asked here if he was really a top receiver. Posters made convincing arguments that he was. When you average 14 yards a reception you are a dangerous receiver, he just does it differently than Cooper Kupp.
So I assume you think MVS, alex pierce, nick westbrook, demarcus robinson, calvin austin III, josh palmer,Jalen coker, jalen nailor, darius slayton are all GOOD receivers then?

But again you consider a player who was one of the most dymanic players in the league "just a guy". So it's clear you just don't know what you are talking about.
He was that, one year. Otherwise, another guy.

No I do not. What I do know is people who know football understand that Deebo Samuel, when he is healthy and playing well, is hardly just a guy. What a bizarre position to take.

It really wasn’t one season. Over the last three seasons he’s been that guy for PARTS of every season. The issue has been his health. He’s a football player so some of his numbers have dropped as he tried to play through things. When he’s healthy he’s a real weapon.

They need to upgrade the OL.

That would be smart.

Exactly.

For a 5th round pick it's win-win.

When healthy. Which was really, one whole season. Thats my point. Hes CPAT essentially.

Of course he's a real weapon and to say otherwise is utter nonsense. At least he was, not sure now but I'm willing to take my chances for a 5th. If he was 2nd in the league in RAC last season that should tell us something.
