49ers wanted someone with return ability with Williams going down and Ginn hurt and he still might have practice squad eligibility. I haven't checked yet.

yep, it has to be for ST's, mainly punt returns. they'll need to tryout more than few and get two ready for the Rams.

it is unfortunate with Ginn's wrist injury, but makes sense to keep him out? we'd be asking for potential turnovers asking him to catch punts.

they'll all tryout fielding punts, and we'll get the best two ready for Sunday.

they won't be able to judge decision making and ball security, so whomever catches it best?
