49ers should redo their helmets

The 49ers helmet is such a blatant ripoff of the Packers helmet, it's silly. They even have the same stripe pattern. There's so much rich history in the city and possibilities, to just have a Packers copy of the SF wrapped in a team colored oval with the same stripes...

But with that said with the success of the franchise over the last 30 years wouldn't it be nearly impossible to replace the logo? I for one would go bat shit crazy if the York's touched the logo JMO

The georgia bulldogs football helmet is a blatant ripoff of the green bay helmet (or vice versa, depending on who had it first)

The SF logo has become a logo synonymous with their winning tradition. Anything else would look AFL-ish unless the niners start winning under it.

I would maybe add to the existing helmet rather than change it altogether. Maybe add a pickaxe that runs diagonally behind the SF logo?

I'd be all for changing the helmet. Heck, I'd be all for changing the name of the team to the Santa Clara 49ers. Put a SC on the helmet.

P.S. Green Bay's uniforms are the ugliest in the NFL.

On second look, the Green Bay Packers pre-dated the NFL, so their helmets were around before the 49ers'.

The only similarities I see To Green Bay is having an oval, the stripe patterns have been around the league forever.

So, looking at this website (very cool website btw!, thanks for the link), Green Bay's 'G' only predates San Frans 'SF' by one season. Hardly a rip off.
