49ers-Saints, who do we want to win?

Kind of want the 49ers to win so we're essentially 2 wins up on everyone... but dunno.

What's everyone's thoughts and logic? Certainly someone has done all the tiebreaker/game analysis as to which is more beneficial to us.

I think one could make a decent case for either rooting for the Saints or rooting for the Niners, but I feel like rooting for the Saints. If the Niners lose, and fall back by three games we'll get pretty close to wrapping up the divison and then I think we have a fairly good chance of beating the Saints in two weeks. Brees' QB rating is a lot more pedestrian on the road and Lynch has a good matchup against a below average run defense.

If the Saints wins today, we'd be looking in the rear view mirror for the Cardinals instead since they're playing much better football right now than the Whiners.

I wanted the Saints.

1. I can't stand the Whiners. I don't want them in the tourney. Cards and Bears as Wild Cards.

2. It makes the MNF game even bigger and potential tie-breaker at stake.
If we want the #1 seed, we must beat the Saints in our house.

3. The Saints still have to play the Panthers twice which is another potential loss.

4. I can't stand the Whiners.

5. I can't stand the Whiners.

At the end of the day it didn't really matter who won that game. Still, it is ALWAYS nice to see SF lose and look bad doing it. ALWAYS.

I liked today's outcome. It showed the Saints potent offense can be slowed down by a good defense, and the Niners lost which helps our bid for the NFCW title. It is now on us to beat the Saints in case of tie records to get the HFA in the playoffs if we get that far. Not wanting to count my chickens, because an injury can happen at any time, even on a bye week.

Now the Saints have to come to us, in a night game which puts them at more of a disadvantage and I think some of their guys got banged up. Still 2 weeks away, but the next two games are going to be great. MNF at the CLink and then the Niner game could get flexed into the Sunday night game I think.
