Plus if the 49ers offered there 2nd for Grap why not just throw in there 1st and offer both picks to us for KC. How could Kyle have more confidence in Grap than KC.
for the same reasons you dont have confidence in KC

Again Dean... pretend some one fired you. Are you going to call them up and ask them to do you a favor?? No way Kyle calls Bruce to make an offer. And if he does, no way Bruce doesnt try and fuck him in the deal.

Yea he was holding out hope that we would tag Kirk and Kyle would sign him any way. Then we get those two 1st rounders, and Dean gets to say he was correct.

The QB tag for 2018 is 22 million I believe. We paid 24 for KC because it was the second tag.

Average of the top 10, so $22.8M would be the tag. Unless its the exclusive tag which would make it $24.8M as the exclusive tag is an average of the top 5.

If they went after him in FA, they risk having to bid against

The Browns
The Jets
and just maybe The Redskins

As more time goes by I increasingly see Cousins being on the Redskins at least for next season. Part of your argument has always been Snyder finding a shiny new toy that he can parlay into ticket sales, etc. I actually see that as the opposite. That could have been true 5 years ago, but now fans are more jaded & mistrustful of him & the majority of fans want to see them retain Cousins (again - in spite of naysayers in the media & in forums like this one).

I believe that the Redskins are very aware of this & will actually make a sincere effort to retain Cousins. This season IMO has worked in Cousins favor due to 1. Improvement of Goff & trade for Garappolo take them out of bidding 2. Rampant injuries to Skins basically don't allow them to view Cousins negatively - he can only look good & 3. overall play & perception of Cousins has been favorable thus far (in spite of folks like Dean who always put a negative spin on Cousins).

I believe at worst they will tag him & keep him one more season (again - stupid IMO), but I think that they will make a sincere effort to extend him (unlike the lame effort this past offseason). Hope so.

If your conspiracy theory was right, then Bruce would take a 1 and 2 for KC from Kyle. Plus if Allen refused the deal he can make it public and show all the haters like you that he wants KC here. Your theory just got blown up again. If Allen and Co. have no intentions on keeping KC here why would any Redskins fan not want draft picks? The real question is what is KC's asking price now for a LTD?

Way to try and spin the narrative. But again I ask..

If you got FIRED by a guy. Are you then going to call him up and ask him to sell you the truck you need to do your next job?? And if you do have no spine, and make that call. Do you honestly think the guy who FIRED you is going to be like, yea ok Dean.. I will sell you the dump truck, And I will even give it to you for a good price.

Bottom line, Kyle wasnt going to call, and Bruce wasnt going to trade Kirk to the 49ers for anything less than a monster deal.

Bruce might not want to keep Kirk in the long run, but he wasnt going to make a trade that would potentially make him look bad.

So if Kyle offered a 1 and 2 for KC you are saying Allen turns it down b/c its not a monster deal? Forget the past If Kyle could get his #1 QB why not call? If you gave up a 2 for Grap why isn't KC worth an extra first? He is a proven QB in your system. Im not spinning anything. Just proving there is no conspiracy. Plus why aren't teams like Jacksonville and Arizona not calling Bruce.

Bruce would turn it down because he would want MORE.

Its not about conspiracy. Its a simple fact, Bruce is NOT going to make a deal that could potentially make him look bad. Trading Kirk to the Niners had a high potential of doing just that. Just because Bruce doesnt WANT to keep Cousins long term does not mean he is going to simply do what ever it takes to get rid of him, especially if in doing so he will probably come out looking bad in the process.

Yea right!! If the decision was already made not to sign KC long term like you said 100 times no way in hell he turns down that deal. How is getting the 49ers 1st and 2nd in the 2018 draft make him look bad? The only way Allen looks bad is getting nothing for KC if he leaves.

Easy, if Allen Deals Cousins to the Niners and they improve as a team with him as their QB. Mean while the Redskins WITH those draft picks continue to spin their wheels in the never ending quest for an elite QB... Allen looks bad. If Allen was going to trade Cousins, he would try and deal him some place where he is likely to fail. Why?? Because he is a vindictive petty little man that does care more about looking right than actually being right. So IM not saying it was impossible for Bruce to deal Kirk to the Niners, I am saying the only way it happens is if Bruce gets a monster trade out of the deal. And a 1st and 2nd wouldnt have done it.

So at the end of the day, the only way Bruce looks GOOD in all this is if he

1. Resigns Cousins for LESS than the going rate
2. Kirk goes else where and fails.

How the 1st and 2nd don't do it? Its a top 2 pick in each round. You really think KC succeeds in SF this year or next? That offense needs a lot especially with Garcon going down. I would of loved to seen that offer go public if Kyle did offer it. Now it looks like a long term deal is coming this offseason. Another franchise tag would be awful. The bottom line here is that I think IMO Kyle could of gotten his guy this year.

I agree, he COULD have gotten his guy. BUt it would have cost him more than a 1st and a 2nd. The redskins MIGHT retain Cousins, but if so it will be on another tag unless we some how manage a playoffs appearance and win.

So you are saying Allen would turn down the picks to Franchise KC again at 35M? Plus not know if he will sign a long term deal with us in 2019. That is just awful. That is more than enough compensation to make a deal with KC b/c of where the picks are located. A long term deal the end of this season is very possible even if we don't make the playoffs b/c Allen and Synder will factor in the injury situation and the ineffectiveness of Pryor, Crowder, and Reed. If KC loves Gruden a LTD should happen.

1. A long term deal SHOULD have happened already.
2. If this team doesnt make the playoffs, Bruce will lowball Kirk again and tag him if he has to.
3. I think he would have turned down the picks unless it was a monster deal because he is Bruce Allen. And he is currently winning off the field.

1. Sure
2. Numbers are way too high now. different situation
