Semantics. FSU and Miami were both ahead of USC on the "want" list.

no, texas arkansas south carolina and fsu were all ahead of miami. They considered miami on par with tulane in 1990 in regards to their commitment to their overall athletic programs.

If GT gets into the B1G, I see alot more stability for them, but DANG, all by ourselves in the south.

HOWEVER,

I looked at travel distances the other day. There are 4 or 5 B1G schools closer to Atlanta than any current B12 school. Unfortunately, this would have been mitigated in the B12 if other ACC schools came with GT.

No way a set of ACC teams to go Pac12. Also I don't see Georgia Tech going to B1G and being the only southern team in the B1G. Although GT is in a great media market, they don't have a huge fan base or athletic success to be a lone team from a region added to the B1G. VT or Maryland has a better chance.

looks decent to me .. i think rutgers gets left out in all of this .. not sure about the pac but byu would be a good geographic fit, air force, maybe colorado st? san diego st? fresno st?

sec's wish list of realistic candidates. i honestly don't think they're looking elsewhere other than the unrealistic candidates of texas and notre dame

vt/uva/umd (in that order)
unc/ncstate (in that order)

b1g: notre dame, georgia tech, uva/umd/vt, unc/duke

big12: who gives a shit? they'll take the b1g's and sec's leftovers :D

If Boise State does not end up getting included on this, then the whole idea is pretty much a fail in my opinion....

Boise has been one of the teams at the head of the BCS controversy over the past 5 years on a consistent basis. They are a big part of the reason why we are looking to a different system............a huge reason why we were looking at a +1 system.

Now if we go 4 conferences and shut them out, we're basically just in denial about the fact that Boise State ever could have been a contender............just gonna sweep them under the rug and hope everyone forgets about it.

And the funny part is, meanwhile we are going to let a team like Notre Dame (a program that has become all but completely irrelevant) join a conference on their own terms........finish out their remaining contracts........leave one of our conferences 1-team short in the meantime...........and then when they finally do join a conference, they're gonna suck.

South Carolina was at the bottom of the list no matter how much you try to argue differently.

Maybe, GT really has no media pull around these parts.

sorry...that PAC prediction is absolutely ridiculous.

We will keep it geographically accurate.

Drop UVA as they are pathetic. add Boise State.

Drop Duke..add Wyoming

Drop Maryland...add Hawaii

Drop UNC...who will be on major probation BTW, no one wants them..add Colorado St.

Do you think that id Clemson was kind of left waiting there and it came down to uva, clemson or maryland, they would overstep south carolina and let them in

No. I think they would take UVA. Carolina doesn't have as much pull as Florida and Georgia in that regard so I could see them voting in favor of Clemson over Maryland. Clemson has a strong SEC-like fanbase and their boosters are loaded FWIW.

Maryland brings zero to the table IMO. Maybe someone can correct me on that.

I think USC basically has a gentleman's agreement with Florida and UGA to support each other in not allowing their in-state rivals into the conference.

They do. Doesn't mean they couldn't be persuaded to break that agreement if Clemson was the best school available.

True, but I'm with you in thinking they'd be more likely to go after UVA than Clemson.
I think the SEC bosses also know that they can hurt themselves if they pack too many good teams into the conference (Clemson or VT). They want an undefeated team every year, ideally, so they need some UVAs (and Mizzous) en sech in there, so that it's not impossible to do.

Clemson adds nothing. They are not a strong football team consistently. They recruit SEC country. They add no new markets. They would be just dead weight. I am thinking NC State and Virginia Tech are the most likely teams to add.

I don't think there is any way to do this with 64 teams and make it right...........honestly.

Go with the plus 1 system, end of story. If major programs are being left out it's gonna make for more controversy than we had before.
