I was listening earlier to a wrestling commentator mention that Battleground would be WWEs 3rd PPV in 50 days....add only 21 days (now 20) till Summerslam and .....well you can do the math. I see a real issue with this. WWE is doing a terrible job in scheduling these events in that they will not allow good enough time to build new fueds. It is expected tonight that Lesnar will return and challenge Cena for title. Is 3 weeks really enough time to build this storyline with these two guys in it? Also consider that Cena (from reports) will not be at RAW tonight. Was Battleground really needed? :noidea:

They really dont put attention to places where its needed more. The build ups are mostly quick and terrible. I can tell when a run in is going to happen 90% of the time, when a guy is going to return miraculously what have you. Its all pretty tired and predictable at times. I thought when they fired the head writer a few months back that they would go in a more creative direction, turns out that guy knew what the fuck he was doing by the looks of the last few months. They cant build up story lines cause they dont build up characters. Take Bray for instance. Hes had some big wins the last 6 months and he loses to Jericho who is clearly fat and out of shape lol. What the hell was the point of that match. Bray is just going around attacking everyone and the people who he attacks just goes away. You would think it would really go somewhere. Hes got a great speaking style but its actually too winded now. He was actually booed jeered last raw. He does in fact need a title to lend legitimacy to him. But no, the Miz is a champ. SMH....

I guess after WWE lost 300 million they needed to chop someones head. I wonder how long it will take them to rehire that guy...lol

They are giving more days during the same period. It used to be 5 or 6 PPVs in these same days.

2014 - Extreme Rules (May 4) to SummerSlam (Aug 17) - 4 PPVs - 71 Days
2013 - Extreme Rules (May 19) to SummerSlam (Aug 18) - 4 PPVs
2012 - Extreme Rules (April 29) to SummerSlam (Aug 19) - 5 PPVs
2011 - Extreme Rules (May 1) to SummerSlam (Aug 14) - 5 PPVs
2010 - Extreme Rules (April 25) to SummerSlam (Aug 15) - 5 PPVs
2009 - Backlash (April 26) to SummerSlam (Aug 23) - 6 PPVs

My days are way off, so I corrected it.

Opps...Summerslam is Aug 17th which makes it 4 ppvs in 76 days but you get the idea.

It was common for Attitude Era to have 6 PPVs in the same time frame

1994 was the last time they had 4 PPVs or less from 70 days before SummerSlam and SummerSlam. It's been 5 or more until this year.

3 weeks is going to have to do it with Lesnar because he probably won't commit to anything longer in building up a feud. If Lesnar is active in those 3 weeks though, I think it's enough. Lesnar just showing up creates a lot of interest.

Correction...

Paul Heyman has to build up the feud.

I thought the same thing, but I have been watching a lot of PPVs during that same time. Feuds were not continuous for a long time. They lasted for about a few months, then a feud with someone else came in, and then the original feud came back.

Stone Cold's feud with McMahon was a few months long, then The Rock stepped in, then Big Show got involved, then Stone Cold went back with McMahon as The Rock and Big Show feuded.

they promise the pay per views to make the network sound cheap so people still think they are getting a deal. Didnt think they had to give quality pay per views other than wrestlemania and summerslam.

You are onto the reason the PPV's are so watered down.

Things haven't been nearly as good since Chris Kreski left back around 2001 or so. That guy was a great writer.
