If that were the case then the braves would of done anything to get Uggla to test positive
Please don't give the players association any bright ideas...the lawsuits would be endless

NOt sure, but you would think owners are gonna demand some protection, especially considering its only April, and I assume we are just seeing the beginning of what could be a long list

Thing is that the players won big time in the last labor stoppage...the exact opposite situation as in the NFL now. Note that baseball contracts are all 100% guaranteed and football contracts are not.

When do owners get protection?

Owner should be able to void a contract when a player fails

Dee Gordon comes back as a .240 hitter, and the Marlins bought themselves a lemon, unbeknownst to them

If they looked at his career arc, it should have been beknownst. Most obvious juicer since Yadier Molina.

 when is the contract up with the league.....i wouldnt be surprised if they do something in the next labor negotiations
The Joint Drug Agreement went into effect in December 2011 and is scheduled to terminate Dec. 1, 2016 (the same date as the Basic Agreement). The "prohibited substances" section of the Joint Drug Agreement is updated annually.

Players dont get paid while suspended Marlins just saved about 4 mil:suds:

You have to be a real dumb fuck to test positive for PEDs in MLB.

All they have to do is buy the good stuff, read the instructions and follow them. If Ortiz can pull it off for all these years, I'd think anyone who is capable of tying their shoes would be capable of avoiding detection, but I guess not.

Good point, Dirt.

That said, I do not assume that a player that has been caught taking PEDs will stop taking PEDs because they got caught. See Ryan "ass stain" Braun. So maybe the Marlins will do alright.

This.

I'm just hoping Jose Bautista has been following the instructions because I just acquired him on a fantasy team.
