Sam LeCure pitching.

When his career is over, he should move to France and become a chiropractor.

:panda: extends the hitting streak to 17 to start the season (besting Mays' SF mark), and then Posey blasts a homer.

Need about 4 more "bloop and a blast" combos tonight.

What angers me (a little) is that we were still in it at 2-0, but Noggin refused to play for a run in the 5th. And then sent Cain out (at 110 pitches) in the 7th.

And........the game ends on a GIDP. Perrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect.

Get 'em tomorrow.

Listening to KNBR, they are being VERY hush-hush about it. Maybe they don't know, but this is making more and more sense. Maybe he was drunk/buzzed during the game, thus forgetting he was playing 2B instead of 1B.

This is 1000% speculation on my part. I have not heard anything for or against this. Just my reading between the lines a bit...

It's a conclusion that fits all the puzzle pieces (declining performance, anecdotal evidence of his post-game tendencies, secretive nature of his absence, no known physical injury, etc). And it isn't being explicitly eliminated by any other explanation (eg, a family illness, injury treatment).

Agreed, pure speculation.

Double header yesterday, got into cincy at 3 a.m.

Not to make excuses, but this game was going to be a tough one to win.

My (unproclaimed) thoughts exactly. Still pleased with the roadie so far. There was bound to be one of these stinkers on an east coast trip, hate that it was vs. over emoting douchebag Mat "I spell my name with one T" Latos. Used bathroom mat is more like it.

Man, it ain't personal. I'm opining. Maybe I'm wrong, I just see something happening.

Freak wasn't going to pitch like 2008-9 his whole career, and now we see what that looks like.

Didn't he have a sub 3 era last year?

I know the feeling when he isn't dominant every time out but he has had stretches like this before. His response to a shitty August 2010 was capped off by game 5 in the world series.

Agreed last year his ERA was good but his peripherals continued to drop (as they have done this year): lower velocity, more walks, etc.

And he's never had his bad stretch to start a season.

Hey I would love to be wrong and Timmy shove it up my ass and finish the year really strong. He is capable. But he's not the same pitcher he was in 2009 and if he was on another team we'd all say so.

He's a great starter, but I think Cain is now better. And it's not personal, he's my second favorite Giant after B-Weezy. This is all just yakking anyway, who knows?

Good game BSF. Hopefully our boys can rebound today.

Tough one, but like you all have said, after the double header the day before and the late plane flight.....to be expected.

I feel like I should be Marty McFly to gp's Doc and go back in time and warn him NOT to watch this game, lol.

Apparently, the personal matter was affecting him on Saturday. Kruk said that Huffer didn't seem right. This would explain his mental absence and perhaps his mental approach at the plate as well. My guess is that it's his Mom...I really hope I'm wrong and that his family is ok.

i was thinking the same thing. Schulman tweeted theres rumblings of Arias coming up, meaning Huff could be going on a 7 day leave.

I know I'm probably going to say this before each of Zito's starts this year but...I fear Zito is bound to get lit up today. He's going against a good lineup in a hitter-friendly park...with an ump who apparently doesn't call curves for strikes.

Of course, I could be totally wrong...

Either way...yes, The Giants will beat your Reds. More like 10-7. ;)
