Because 52x7=364, not 365. 365 days a year is a thing. 52 weeks a year is not a thing.Totally random thought, nothing to do with baseball (there is a billboard in the OF that got me thinking of it)…
Why is the term “24-7-365” instead of “24-7-52”?
But then the idiom breaks it’s own pattern.Because 52x7=364, not 365. 365 days a year is a thing. 52 weeks a year is not a thing.
But then there's leap years.
When I worked at GE, we got paid weekly. One's annual salary was divided by 52.166869, and that was one's weekly salary. That accounted for leap years, and for leap years when it wasn't a leap year. But then the idiom breaks it’s own pattern.
besides, the 365 already ignores leap year, so it is already wrong.
FYI, there are reddit subs based on this issue. LOL
Great. When I worked at GE, we got paid weekly. One's annual salary was divided by 52.166869, and that was one's weekly salary. That accounted for leap years, and for leap years when it wasn't a leap year.
Cot Dayum. That looks like it hurt.
Yeah, you could turn it into a jingle, like a phone number.Great.
so the idiom should be 24 7 52.166869
Done.
