Giants provide a Moonlight Serenade for fans beating L.A. 3-2 in 12 innings

On a night when #42 was honored the baseball world was treated to a old fashioned rivalry ballgame between the Dodgers and the Giants. In a classic game that went on past midnight ,the Giants found a way to win 3-2 in 12 innings.

Tim Lincecum took the mound as the peoples champ and battled through 5 innings giving up only 1 ER on 5 hits ,striking out 5 on this night.Everyone in the bullpen was solid with Petit picking up the win.Pence had 3 hits breaking out of his mini slump and Belt provided 3 hits of his own. The battle went on past midnight with the moon shining bright down upon AT&T Park.

Into the 12th inning where it came down to Hector Sanchez singling to center just off the tip of the glove of the Dodgers 2nd baseman and the walkoff win was in the books. It was a great win in the moonlight as the seagulls flew overhead waiting for their late night feed fest. It was a game where Jackie Robinson had to be proud and where all the players and coaches wore his number in tribute to him. It had a little New York flavor mixed in with the San Francisco night line. It was a moonlight serenade as the band left to a standing ovation and celebrated Bruce Bochy's early morning birthday. A night to remember as the Giants beat L.A..

Just 2-13 with RISP, so 16 LOB. Yuck.

Pence coming around - now 7 for his last 21. Stole a base last night, too.
