I'm not a noob, I know players go through tough stretches and tough starts. But does Longoria have enough track record over the past few years to be sure he will ever hit? With Cutch it's a one year gamble and looks like he will be fine, but we're stuck with Longo and he's paid way too much for a good field no hit 3B

I was in favor of the trade, but as a gamble that we could win, or lose. Lose feels likely at this point...I can see him ending the year with a .700 OPS and hitting 7th.

From my understanding the Giants are paying him like $10m a year, so not too bad. And I don't think he's going to be THIS bad for long, but I'd be pretty shocked if he has an OPS over .800 at any point the rest of his career.

He is playing like shit, but the numbers he has put up THESE LAST 2 WEEKS are not at all indicative of what he has done at any time during his career. I expect him to settle in at somewhere around a 110 OPS+. He is right now sitting at 33.

He will not be an all-star. And if Sandoval plays well, he MAY take away some ABs. But what we see from him now is not who he is.
