He won’t/didn’t because he had Hosmer bitching in his ear the whole time.

Doobie is a head case, and I bet he wasn’t thinking when he laid down the bunt, but he was right for doing it. Not sure he gets credit in my book for it because he didn’t do it out of any “I am making a point” reasoning, but rather because he was not thinking of the situation.

Hard to reward stupid, if the accidentally do something smart.
idk.. yeah it goes against protocol, but in the eyes of the handicappers we're looking waaaay up at the Pads. I'm not opposed to making a statement. Just got to back it up.

it that's the case, why f'd around with him? just to showcase for a trade?
I think he has a CHANCE to stick around.

He could impress on the field and/or in the clubhouse. Or someone else could have a bad showing or get hurt. His default position is DFA-bound, though, I think.

Pedo looks like a bad 90s throwback. And it pains me to say that abour a Paly Hi alum (should have walked across El Camino and played for Stanford)
I wasn’t a fan of his (as a player…. I don’t have an opinion of him as a person) when he was a doggie. I wasn’t a fan of his as a Cub. I wasn’t a fan of his as a Brave. I wasn’t a fan of his signing this off season. He is a dime-a-dozen player. All power, no OBP, middling defense. Why?

this outing is not doing what Beede needs to keep his spot.

At this point, he might clear waivers. Heck, he might be simply released.

Why not give Jaylin Davis a chance to see if he can play at the big league level?

I his signing was purely to satisfy tzill.

I think this outing helps him. Expectations are low. Sure, the walks aren't good but the fact he's given up 0 hits and 0 runs is good.

Per Baggs:

Gabe Kapler says he fully supported Duggar stealing and Dubon bunting for a hit. The goal is to score as many runs as possible and exhaust an opponent.
