Heck, they hit 41% last night.

Not sure what you take away from this game if you're the Rockets.

On the one hand, you got dominated in the first half, but were able to completely erase a 21 point lead and take the lead yourself.

On the other hand, you hit 22 threes, hitting 41% from that range and lost.
Well, the Lakers hit 56.6% of their FGA's and 12 of 27 FG's (44.4%) compared to Houston's 45% and 41.5%.

Not really a shocker the Lakers won.

How come that every time someone disagrees with you, they always “don’t know anything about basketball”?

Because if someone knows less about basketball than bks, they really must not anything about it? :noidea:

Sorry @bksballer89

Shot was there...had to take it. :D

Not a shocker, but 22 threes is tough to beat.

The starting Lakers guards especially and practically everyone else on the Lakers roster can't stop Houston's dribble penetration for usually easy lay-ups.

KCP and Danny Green at times continue to donate bricks to the construction of Florida highways. I am not sure what Kyle Kuzma is doing and what he is waiting for in the offense and the defense.

The Lakers 3-point perimeter defense remains atrocious and the pattern that was hidden during the regular season continues openly into these playoffs.

Some folks are beginning to wonder if AD can handle playoff pressure as the Lakers were manhandled in the paint last evening by D'Antoni's microball.

Some adjustments will definitely be required by the Lakers before Game 2 or we may see a semis exit by the same.
Not a word about Vogel?

He just seemed to be unprepared for Game 1's vs lessor talent.

I disagree. The defense was good in both game 1's. The offense wasn't and AD was passive in both game 1's. In the game 2's, the defense was still good, AD was more aggressive and the entire offense worked better because of it

That's not Vogel being unprepared.

Lesser talent? Only the top 2.

Rockets are good, don't act like they shouldn't win a couple games at least

Yeah they have a solid top 8 including 2 top 15 players. Covington, PJ Tucker, and Gordon can play for my team any time

Don't take this out of context msgkings, it was in reply to Retro's post, right?

And sure the Rockets are good, but if they had similar talent, they would have similar odds to win it all. They don't. (+225 LAL vs +2000 HOU) And I know Houston has talent, enough talent to win the series! Their team is put together nicely and will be a hard out for any team remaining in the bubble.

Bottom line, there is a reason they put the ball in play, anything can happen, like the Lakers admittedly stating they weren't prepared for the Rockets speed in G1.

So between that, the adjustment made on Harden in G2 bringing the double most all game long, and the way the way they played G1 vs Portland, has me questioning the game planning & preparation on Vogel's part.

The defense was not good in game 1.

They missed 43 shots, we only missed 36.....and we out-rebounded them, 41-35.

How often do you see a team make 22 3's in a game and lose that game? The Rockets for the most part have been a pretty solid defensive team as well...at least for these playoffs.

Here are the top 10 most 3's in a game. All won and most weren't close...that's why this is kinda crazy. It can happen I'm sure...just very rare you see a team make a ton of 3's and lose. If a team could do it..it's the Rockets with how many they take. The Lakers just had two stars go off while shooting very good from the field. Pretty impressive.

24 - Warriors W by 25 and W by 7 (twice)
