A few things Id like to point out.

Personally, Hakeem gets more credit than any other C. Because IMO, he's the best. I know people consider Wilt or Lew Alcindor or Bill Russell. Not me, it's Hakeem.

Im not sure Dominique and AI could co-exist. That's a lot of reckless ball hogging for one lineup. Very athletic though.

Carmello being with Eyebrow (|:-) and Shaq was a great move on 500's part. But James Worthy is gonna be lightin' up the baseline.

Ginobili is a guy I've always really liked, and thought about taking. Frustrating guy to go up against.

I need a lot of offense from Mitch Ritchmond, both starting Power Forwards(all 4 big men will take turns riding Shaq up and down the court.) and Worthy in this one.

The key will be Isiah hitting Mitch off screens heading to the basket. Utilize his size advantage.

At some point in the game we could see the NBA's first MVP (Pettit) going up against a future MVP in Davis. Id pay to see that.

Not till 500 weighs in.

This could go either way for me. Hakeem might cancel out the love I have for my front court as a unit.

All of these games are very close, it comes down to mismatches to me. There aren't a lot that jump out IMO, in till you get to Center. While Thurmond and Howard were very good, Hakeem and Shaw were great. That's the difference to me

I have Centers on my roster.

Not that I disagree with Hakeem swaying votes.

Shaq..... Egh.

Smitty was not the team I wanted to see this early for sure. I believe i had Smitty tied for third in my rankings and me tied for 1st with WLK. Only separated by like 3 points. I agree with UK about the center edge. My opinion of Dwight is lower than most. I would also give my scoring a slight edge. I'll vote for myself but can't argue much if people go the other way.

While I agree 500 has the edge at the 5 I think Smitty has just as clear an advantage at PG and PF. I think we all know how I feel about the good doctor and I agre with Smitty I dont like AI and Nique on the floor together.

Smitty in the closet matchup in round 1.

Agree on Manu. Love him and picked him last two NBA drafts. Think him and Clyde's games would work so well together.

Smitty in a close matchup. These matchups are getting so hard to determine a winner. It seriously could go either way.

I think the rankings I had these two tied at the top. Both great teams. Smitty has two great PG's, 500 has two great C's.

500 by a point. Geez this was tough. Probably the two best teams.

Okay, so twice now Ive had long posts typed up in dedication to Bob Petit and how it's a shame he isn't a household name these days. Once I spent too much time looking at Shaqs career numbers. (Best rounding season was as a rookie.). The other I watched Manu Ginobili highlights.

Anyways, Bob Pettit was ridiculous during his 11 year career. 11 All Star games. 11 seasons of atleast 20 and 12. Only twice did he average less than 14.6 bourds. And only twice did he average less than 24 points. While averaging 3 assists for his career. And I bet 95 out of 100 high school players couldn't tell you who he even played for. (Probably doesn't help most of them don't know St. Louis had an NBA team.)

Im playin this one out in my head. Went after the best two point gaurds(Magic is his own category) to build around. And did what I could to have an interchangeable front court. (Elvin Hayes is another great that doesnt get credit today. Damn shame.)Im not a huge Howard fan, but he's a good a defender in the post as any who've came into the game the last two decades. I think.

Still playing it out though.

This is a tough 1 for me... In overall talent Smitty tied with me for second... But I may be the person who most votes opposite to his rankings... Not always, but IMO the most talented team usually isn't as well balanced as the middle of the road teams...

500... I his Centers are crazy... I like the team Shaq is surrounded by more than the one that surrounds Dream, however, it appears the Nique, AI, KJ trio is for getting out on the break, that is some speed and athleticism... If it doesn't make the easy bucket KJ is smart enough to pull it out... I think Frazier takes control of the 2nd unit and feeds Shaq but will recognize when to let Melo get some touches and AD and Ginobili play off the ball very well...

Smitty... Love the PG position... Stockton and Hayes for the Pick-n-Pop may be more lethal than Stockton Malone... Isiah was a scoring PG, but he would pass it... He liked the wow pass and with Doc he would have plenty of opportunity for that...

This one is very difficult because I love the Centers of 500, but Smitty constructed a solid team as well with players that can compliment each other... In the end in a close game it will come down to the last 2 possessions IMO...

So I'll do it like this... Both teams get a chance down 2 with the ball and enough time for 3 possessions...

500... Johnson takes the ball down court, dumps to Dream, Dream Shake... Tied 31 seconds... Isiah drives lob to Doctor J, up 2, 7 seconds left... KJ dumps it down to Dream, fade away good, OT...

Smitty... Isiah gets the ball, takes it to the hoop... Tied 31 seconds... Dream shake up 2, 7 seconds... Isiah drives dishes to Mitch for the corner 3... Game

Man... I have to go with Smitty... I think if Clyde is in with the first group I'd go 500...

Smitty - 121
500 - 120
