Did anyone really care about this game aside from WVU and VT fans (to the extent they have any)? It's a serious question.

It's not an ACC game and VT is not really a contender for the conference anyway, so it's not like those folks care. WVU is in the Big 12 for no reason whatsoever; nobody in Texas or Oklahoma cares about them. You don't even have many Wal-Mart fans, because there are no major cities in West Virginia and the ones in Virginia (DC suburbs, Richmond, Hampton Bays area) are more interested in UVA.

It's like a little hillbilly border rivalry and it's always been confusing to me why either team gets any press.
