I was thinking the same thing about Skattebo, but then he recorded a 39.5 inch vertical leap at the Combine, which is an elite number for that event. He also had a 10 feet 3 inches broad jump, which is excellent. I know that those are jumps, but it makes me think that his athleticism is very good and that he wouldn't be bad in the 40 yard dash.
I suspect he is 4.6 40 speed although I wouldn't rule out the possibility that he runs slower so he can smash into defenders.

I think there were at least 4 defenders in his highlight reel where they said f it and tried to take him down by the facemask.

If you wanted to say RBs aren’t important, picking the Eagles in the playoffs this year to prove your point was probably not a good idea…

Barkley averaged 2.3 ypc in the Super Bowl. I pointed out Super Bowl, not playoff run to get there.

Using one game is totally meaningless and especially when a team's goal is to stop you. Mahomes threw 2 interceptions in that game, that's not who he is. Also, one could make a case that the Eagles don't get passed the Rams without Barkley. That doesn't mean the Eagles weren't the best team. They were, and my betting account benefitted from that in a big way...

Hampton a 55??? I think Campbells pretty far off on that one, like 30 picks off. My bet is first round. If he gets to the cowboys 2nd pick I’d be up on the table yelling for him if I were in the room. I wouldn’t be surprised if he went top 20. I think he is going to be a stud.
Walter football is excellent for information-never use them for pick order!

Mike Renners (PFFs old draft guy) list:

1. Jeanty (better than Bijan)
2. Sampson (best guy against light boxes...which are the common formation in todays NFL)
3. Hampton
4. Scattebo

yep...same thing every year. An opinion can be found on every street corner. This is the first time I've seen Sampson as high as 2. Yesterday MJD listed Scattebo as his second best available and referred to Sampson as a system back.

coin flip.

I was going to post MJDs, too. Also had Hampton lower on his list.

I've watched Sampson a bit and I wouldn't want to take him in the top 2 rounds at all. Generally the only players I want from UT's offense play O line

but do we really know till we know?

I remember seeing Emmitt Smith's coverage when he landed at DFW airport and he was in a brown yellow poky dot outfit. I'm thinking, if only Blair Thomas had been the pick.

Tough for me to get behind better than Bijan stuff when dude played that schedule. I think Bijan is rare air as a prospect.

Yeah Bijan is an absolute stud, he’s almost under appreciated because we haven’t had a winning season with him yet, but he’s one of the NFL’s best backs, yeah I’m biased but I would put him in the top 5 RBs in the NFL. Jeanty is a great back as well but I doubt he’s better than Bijan, that’s saying a lot.

I don't see Washington mentioned when the RB draft class is discussed but I'd be shocked if the didn't take a RB by Day 2. They are looking for more explosion than Robinson can provide, something I've been suggesting for several years.

Let's be honest - anything from Charlie Campbell is good, anything from Walt himself is absolute garbage.

I was on those forums way back when - Walt's gone off the deep end.

I dont think its quite that binary. I could definitely point to some bad takes from Campbell but those bad takes were often shared by the league.

who bats a 1000?

I once was so wrong about the LB Bobby Carpenter when Dallas drafted the OSU standout.

it happens....lol

On the other side, though, saying Walter is garbage is extremely suspect unless its politically motivated.

BUT BOY does Dallas need to hit on somebody from this draft. I still think there is a 5th round guy. No clue who but the guys doing this should have a plan.

Wish we had a 4th maybe we'll get one.

Just saying it was the QB rushing yards that ultimately got it done in the Super Bowl. It was Mahomes' rushing that got the Chiefs past the Bills.

We know what Barkley is (and we'll see if it ultimately proves smart to give him a raise early, as he has an injury history). One man is not going to elevate the pay grade of the entire position throughout the league. If other RBs demand that level of salary, they're probably getting moved or left to try their luck as free agents. Did Henry elevate the Ravens' outcome ultimately?

There are 4 RBs with a cap hit over $10M for 2025 and Barkley's new deal drops him out of that group for now (Taylor, Henry, Jacobs, Kamara). What looks to be a pretty strong RB (and deep) class will likely push a lot of veterans out of roster spots this year. Weird how last year was such a weak class and this year seems overflowing.

I think it was nuts how undervalued RB was for a number of years. The idea of getting Derrick Henry for $8M per year when WRs who signed this year got: Dyami Brown $10M per, Darius Slayton $12M per, Josh Palmer $9.7M per. That's just a league wide travesty and a picture of incompetence. Picture yourself as a DC and facing this next month Balt, The Giants, Jax and Buff. Against Balt you are gearing up for Henry and halfway through the year he was in the thick of the MVP race. Are you even talking about those other guys when game planning for their teams? They are absolute JAGs. I doubt most fans even realize what teams they signed with. Its just nuts. I get not paying the average back or lesser back, because unlike WR where you play 3 on most plays you are playing one RB per play so you only need to find one. I'm talking about the studs.

Totally agree with you on this draft class. I think there are going to be some good RBs that come out of this class. I don't expect it, but I wouldn't be shocked to see two gone by pick #12. I think Ben Johnson has built his OL and wants a top RB to go with them and Dallas will likely take RB or WR because they do not pick BPA even though they tell everyone they do and they are in dire straits at both positions and even after giving him $60M per the words "Dak friendly" have never been more than 2 sentences from their mouths.
