You would be correct on that front. I played baseball in high school and was in swimming and dabbled in basketball when I was younger. Basketball was a pretty major reality check. I remember one of my friends saying basketball was a sport to me and it was life to most people he knew. Stayed away from football. All of my friends from broken homes did. Mothers generally didnt want their kids in football.
please understand I don't deduct points cause you didn't play the sport. I just think alignment and size of a front 7 doesn't make good points, not for the history of this game.

I love the potential 2nd round RBs in this class. Lot of guys with really good vision and the feet to match.
I count 15 RB's.
I like RB in rounds 2 through 5

Bhayshul Tuten and that combine 4.32 time pretty assured his stock went up.

Even a guy like Ollie Gordon looks like a late round steel unless you discount his 2023 season.

I'm looking at the consensus big board a month later and every RB moved up except for Kaleb Johnson. I think Skattebo might actually go before Johnson just based on all of the talking heads I'm hearing.

1. Ashton Jeanty, Boise State

2. Omarion Hampton, North Carolina
3. TreyVeyon Henderson, Ohio State
4. Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State

5.
Cameron Skattebo, Arizona State

6-12. Big ass RB run

I think Jeanty and Hampton will go in the 1st round. There are several teams that need to improve at RB, the Cowboys, Broncos, Raiders and Bears immediately come to mind. This looks like a pretty deep class of RBs

hard for me to see 6 RB's go in the first 64 picks, but maybe

Charlie Campbells recent mock has:

Jeanty at 12 to the Cowboys
Judkins at 51 to Denver
Hampton at 55 to Chargers
Henderson at 68 to Raiders
Johnson at 82 to Steelers
Etienne at 103 to Browns
Skattebo at 114 to Cardinals
Gordon at 115 to Colts

Seems like opinions vary quite a bit after Jeanty in rd1

Yup i think jeantys very good. ive just been excited about hampton. I hope the steelers snag him if they go rb. He looks like late first or 2nd round. There were some guys earlier this year pegging him as the only first rounder. I do want to see kore of some guys like laquint allen and rj harvey , jayden ott

I saw a lot of Laquint being a Syracuse fan. Very well rounded RB and should be weapon in the pass game, but didn't earn a lot of unblocked yards as a runner. Would love to see him do well, but could see him as a 3rd down back in a committee.

they don't matter

remember that twist you hammered for years

Doesn't a class this deep reinforce that? There's enough viable RB prospects in this draft for nearly the entire league to get one.

I don't think a top guy or two getting paid is going reset the thinking.

LOL

there is no fucking way anyone who ever played this game could say this.

this is ALMOST as stupid as saying a position in a team sport doesn't matter

Doesn't matter and doesn't get paid are two different things. RBs have short shelf lives and all but the upper few are pretty replaceable year to year. We are just coming off a Super Bowl where both teams' leading rushers were their QBs, despite the presence of MVP candidate Barkley.

Buddy, the back story to that post is over 5 years old.
You're a day late and a dollar short.

Definitely agree that Hampton has now joined Jeanty in 1st round territory, and it might very well be in the top half of the round. Can't speak for the other teams, but most Bears fans feel at some early point in the draft, ie within the first three rounds, a RB needs to be taken. Jeanty probably won't be there at 10 tho when the Bears are on the clock.

as good as Jeanty appears to be, I hope the decision has been taken outta Dallas's hand at 12.

The only team I see taking a RB in the first 9 picks before the Bears is the Raiders - there’s definitely a decent chance they take Jeanty at #6. Unless a team trades up into the top 10 I don’t see anyone other than the Raiders who would take Jeanty. I think if he’s there at 10 there’s a good chance the Bears take him - what other position might the Bears take do you think? O-Line? Edge rush? Those seem to be their main needs and they’ve already addressed the O-Line some.
I think Hampton goes in the 1st round to the Cowboys or Broncos - those teams desperately need a good RB.

Thats probably pretty accurate analysis. I think harvey had a good combine showing and helped himself

Hampton a 55??? I think Campbells pretty far off on that one, like 30 picks off. My bet is first round. If he gets to the cowboys 2nd pick I’d be up on the table yelling for him if I were in the room. I wouldn’t be surprised if he went top 20. I think he is going to be a stud.

If you wanted to say RBs aren’t important, picking the Eagles in the playoffs this year to prove your point was probably not a good idea…

Short would be better than small but he’s too slow.

I was thinking the same thing about Skattebo, but then he recorded a 39.5 inch vertical leap at the Combine, which is an elite number for that event. He also had a 10 feet 3 inches broad jump, which is excellent. I know that those are jumps, but it makes me think that his athleticism is very good and that he wouldn't be bad in the 40 yard dash.
