Welp, when you are a team whose current QB room is occupied by only Messrs. Mason fekking Rudolph and Skylar fracking Thompson, at this stage of the draft I can't not have Pittsburgh draft Howard. That's just dumb value (whether Cornfed likes him as a pro prospect or not :D).

Yeah, yeah, "They're gonna sign "Commander 4 Nights of Total Darkness" as soon as he announces it on the McAfee show on the 9th!!" That's all well and good (and I have resigned myself to it happening). Aside from that, I think they are obviously stockpiling picks to trade UP in the 2026 draft to select their next "franchise guy" when the draft is actually in Pittsburgh. Doesn't change they fact that if you don't currently have an answer at QB (and they absolutely do not) you should be drafting a QB until you find one.

I'm not the biggest Howard fan, but it's not that tough to envision him being at least a capable long-term backup, with potential to be at least a guy who you could start and not completely have zero chance. He does a lot of things that Tomlin, in his "stegosaurus ball" heart, loves: Good accuracy on deep throws, pretty good at pre-snap reads (on at least half the field, anyway), and he doesn't put the football in jeopardy often. He has some mobility to keep plays alive too. Good build for the spot. Tough.

Plus, when given a chance, I'd wager there's just about ZERO way they could go through a whole draft without Mikey T taking at least one guy from Ohio State. His "Buckeye woody" knows practically no equal.

(Or, hell, maybe I'm just taking Howard to fuck with Skylar Thompson...again. "K-State PTSD, bay-bee!!")

If he falls this late, he’s definitely worth it. No risk, all reward. I would be surprised if PIT does not take a qb earlier in this draft, like top 3 rounds

They dont have a second, and all the local insiders say they wont burn a first.

The guys they visited with so far all feel like Day 3 guys to me. Plus, the owner and HC have practically been talking like Aaron Rodgers is already on the team this week. With this crop, I hope they dont worry about one until at least the 4th.
