Lots of stories going on as NASCAR is back at Daytona for the 500 on Sunday, February 18. The Pettys are celebrating 75 years of racing with a nice tour package and the hat tribute statue station at the Speedway. This year, John Nemechek is driving the 42 car, Erik Jones returns in the 43 car, and Jimmy Johnson in the 84 car.

Nemechek has qualified 10th, Jones 11th and Jeemy 23rd. Should be fun to watch to see who takes this Year's race!

I still haven't picked who to root for this year since Harvick retired.

Leaning towards the Melon Man.

Or hell, maybe even Kyle Busch.

Definitely no one from Gibbs, Hamlin's team, or Hendrick.

Well, the truck race ended with the Big One. Trucks flippin and Sanchez took the win with like 7-8 trucks unwrecked. Just stupid!

Just watched the video since I went to sleep during the rain delay.

Carruth just flat out hooked that guy in the left rear on the last lap.

Lots of inexperience in the truck series and it shows, if they were better they'd be in a higher series. Racing on lap 3 like it was the final lap of the race.

I agree Fish. Lots of drivers pissed with trashed equipment. Not good.

I'm a shameless Ross Chastain fan.

I'm not familiar with most of these drivers but I'll pick the top three.

1 - Chase Elliott
2 - Kyle Busch
3 - Jimmy Johnson

Byron bores the piss out of me. He's a great race car driver, but damn he is boring. I use to work with a guy that told me about rocks all day, everything I never I wanted to know about rocks. Byron looks like him.

NASCAR with Fox created an unnecessary controversy online about the finish. Byron won, but due to the shot they showed Bowman fans were going nuts.

My Boyz from Legends did real well despite that wreck. Nemechek played the wreck perfectly and Jones nearly got through the wreck without making contact with somebody else to finish in the top 10 at 8th and 9th respectively. Jimmie Johnson never got out of 35th spot all race. A good race for the Petty 75th anniversary celebrations!!

I'm new to Nascar racing and I was glued to the TV last night. I was hoping Chastain would win and it looked like he was until he got knocked off the track. Is that fair? can you just knock the leader off the lead on the last second like that? He definitely had the best car last night and should have won. I felt like a blatant holding call was missed in the end zone.

Yep, Rambunctious. In NASCAR, everyone is fair game and he might have got wrecked inadvertantly as some driver behind him tapped another and voila, he got taken out.

Recorded it. Watched the last 12 laps, which of course had the big rub out.

Glad I didn’t invest the full time allotment.

Good move, Hank. I watched the whole sorted affair and was getting a little F-1 Vibe that Chastain was going to dominate the race or at least a Hendricks car would win it which happened. But when Chastain got taken out by the big one and my Legends boyz in Nemechek and Jones finished 7th and 8th respectively, I was pleasantly surprised and glad I invested the time.

Maybe NASCAR has decided to leave the woke mentality bullshit behind and actually go retro back to the days when NASCAR was about competition and racing and not so much corporate ass-kissing!!
