As we all know the salary cap this season is projected to be nearly 20 million less than last season. As a result, these teams are already over the 2021 caps.

NO 66 million
PHI 41 million
Rams 25 million
Atlanta 23 million
KC 18 million
Pitt 15 million
GB 13.5 million
Raiders 10 million
Minnesota 5 million
Detroit 1.5 million
Chicago .5 million

There will be some very good players on the market.

I am not sure how Philadelphia doesn’t trade Wentz. It would be a near break even in terms of dead cap; however, that bridge is burned. All they really want is somebody to take that contract.

I can’t even figure out the deal with Matt Ryan’s contract. I think they save 14 million if they trade him. He is a bargain for any other team who gets him.

now this is thread that has me salivating. This information right here is why I believe we'll survive and even thrive without Watson, A.Robinson, etc.
just too many unseen possibilities

Washington currently has over 38 million in cap room if they cut Alex Smith with a post June 1st designation they will have over 57 million

Ok well subtract 16 mil to resign Sherf , drop 7 mil on Darby that leaves 34 mil add another 3 mil to for KPL . You are down 29 mil . Wait you haven’t got qb yet MM will cost you 10 mil so trim 36 mil and now expensive we 16 to 20 mil for Robinson now you are at 52 mil out of 57 but don’t forget you draft picks . Now tell me we have a lot of cap space !

Dude wake up , he mad 15 mil LAST SEASON ! He will get 16 -18 mil ( 18 mil the tag number ) and if you cut him guess what ? Another 10 mil to replace him with lesser quality . That still is way short to get a Wilson or DW in here

the top guards only make 14 right now so if he wants more then that move on he is not an elite guard

sorry but he is not better then the other top guards making 14 million

Zack Martin, Brandin Brooks, and Joe Thuney...

This stuff is easy enough to verify in the opinion sense. Scherff was first team all pro. The other three were not even mentioned. Martin was hurt this season; however, that simply means Scherff was better.

he isnt taking less then his tag country and that big fat all pro team he made sure smells like elite to anyone with a brain

but lets play it your way , lets call him in at 14 mil . you get 2 extra mil , BFD

I wouldn’t pay him his tag with the reduced cap. Scherff was the highest paid at 15 million on a 200 million cap. That is 7.5% of the cap. An equivalent on 180 million is 13.5 million/year.

This is what should terrify the NFL and the players. How is it that tv ratings went down by 7% during the pandemic? They limited in stadium attendance, so theoretically viewership should have gone up. From there, people were bored but tuned into fewer games.

Any argument you make after making this statement is not even worth reading. The guy was first team all pro last year. That is the definition of elite.

Perhaps there were more urgent things to do during this time.

Pandemic: Why TV ratings for sports have been down since ...
Oct 08, 2020 · Indeed, ratings for the bubble have been lackluster overall and viewership of the Finals thus far has been historically poor, with Game 1 registering 7.4 million viewers (lowest on record) and...

...And then there's this!
(we may be facing a baby boom greater than that which followed WWII and the Great Depression)

Actually, it's projected to be $30M less. 2020 cap was $198.6 and the proposed 2021 is $180M. Nothing is official, but it might be set at $175M and then reset in 2022 to $185-$190M. 2022 will depend on how much over the 2019 revenues are exceeded.
